Expressive therapies is an experiential, creative and holistic approach which empowers people of all ages to express and process trauma, emotions and experiences which may defy verbalisation, cognitive memory or reasoning. It involves more than 'just talking about the problem' and incorporates wide range of methods and modalities.
Expressive modalities empower people to lead more fulfilling lives, realise their potential and heal symptoms related to trauma that can keep them stuck in patterns of behaviour and thought that hold them back. Some of the mental health and well-being challenges that expressive therapies and sandplay therapy can provide effective support with include ptsd, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, life transitions, addictions, intergenerational trauma, phobias and compulsive behaviour, attachment and relationship difficulties and healing from emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Clients are supported to transform and release deeply rooted personal narratives, trauma, beliefs and patterns stored in the body and to create real and lasting change.
