Fire Cider- a blend of warming and aromatic herbs, citrus and honey in raw apple cider vinegar.

As many of you know - my little business has taken up a lot of space in my life and practice the last 2 years. Getting back to a hands on approach to medicine making has been like a homecoming - it’s the way I got started. When I was 17 I did a year long intensive apprenticeship with a master herbalist and teacher- Carol McGrath in my home on Vancouver Island. Our lessons were spent sitting in a Hawthorn tree collecting berries, stringing pillowcases of calendula flowers for drying or pressing St. John’s Wort oil. Concurrently I did a year long course with American herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, and this is when I made my first batch of fire cider. I remember so clearly digging up the horseradish in Carols garden and taking it home feeling victorious and full of purpose. The act of making medicine with plants connects me deeply to what I can only describe as “the ancestors”. The history and tradition of working with nature to balance and support health and help others. Knowing the plants intimately- from seed and sprout- to root and fruit, putting yourself in to the process... makes medicine that has something extra to it. Non-quantifiable, the way home cooked food will always be better than something from a box/ even if it has the same ingredients. We put ourselves in to our work- and the receiver can feel this energy. It’s a kind of magic and making it is an incredible feeling. AND now I get to share it WITH ALL OF YOU! I’m so proud of the Fire Cider I’ve blended this winter. It’s a warming smooth cup of umami nourishment that supports your immune system, digestion and circulation. Sip a tablespoon in just boiled water or like a shot if you’re hardcore. 🔥 To read more or order some (we ship Australia wide)- I’ve put the link to the webstore on my bio.
