With a set-up that’s closely connected to the Lithgow Health Service, we’re able to bring a wide range of surgeons and visiting specialists to the region - meaning patients can access high-quality care without leaving town 🌟

We support privately insured patients, the Department of Veteran Affairs, Workers Compensation, and those who prefer to self-fund their procedure 🩺 And for anyone who is uninsured, our team can walk you through the costs and options - it’s often more affordable than people expect 💭

We’re pleased to introduce Rebecca Aitken as our Specialist Medical Centre and Administration Coordinator here at LCPH 🏥

Bec has stepped into the role with ease - her experience in medical administration and her calm, friendly approach have made her a standout addition to our team from day one! 🌟

Bec has now been a part of the LCPH team for over 12 months, and in that time she’s already become a familiar and trusted face for patients, visiting specialists, and our wider community 🙌🏼

Your eyes deserve expert care! 💙 At LCPH, our visiting ophthalmologist Dr Glen Fernando provides specialist care for a range of eye conditions.

Dr Fernando is a comprehensive eye specialist with a focus on:
👁️ Cataract Surgery
👁️ Anterior Segment Surgery
👁️ Laser Refractive Surgery

Regular eye checks are important for maintaining good vision and catching issues early. If you have concerns about your eye health, speak with your GP or Optometrist about a referral.

Celebrating Dianna Harris 💙🥂✨

Today we say a very heartfelt thank you to our Specialist Centre Administration Coordinator, Dianna Harris, who in September has officially retired after more than 22 years of dedicated service to LCPH 🩺

Di has been a cornerstone of our Specialist Centre - respected by our community, trusted by patients, and valued by doctors and visiting specialists alike. Her professionalism, compassion, and commitment have shaped the Centre into what it is today 🌟

Di has always been an absolute joy to work with, always going above and beyond, always putting people first, and always bringing warmth to the workplace. It’s no exaggeration to say she’ll be deeply missed 🫶🏼

It’s Cervical Cancer Awareness Week - a great reminder to take care of your cervical health! 🌟 Regular screenings like Pap smears and HPV tests are key to catching changes early 🔑

Who’s most at risk? Women aged 25-74, especially if there’s a family history of cervical cancer or other risk factors. Tips to look after yourself:

💙 Keep up with your regular GP check-ups

💙 Know your body - notice any unusual changes

💙 Ask questions and seek advice if something feels off

It is a reminder that if we overuse or misuse antibiotics and other antimicrobials, they may not work when we really need them 💊 At LCPH we are committed to best practice for the appropriate use of antimicrobials for our patients! 💙

It’s Skin Cancer Awareness Week - a timely reminder to check in with your skin ☀️🔍 Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, and early detection really can save lives.

Keep an eye out for:

🔍 New spots or moles

🔍 Changes in shape, size, or colour

🔍 Spots that bleed, itch, or don’t heal properly

Protect yourself with the basics - Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide 👒🕶️ If you notice anything new or unusual, book a skin check with your GP. Regular checks are key to catching potential issues early.

LCPH also offers dermatology consultations with Dr Peter Hogan, who visits monthly as part of our specialist services. Referrals can be directed to LCPH for appointments with Dr Hogan 📩

From assessments to consultations, our visiting ophthalmologists make expert eye care accessible to our local community 🌟💙
