Meet Rosalinda!!

Hello lovely people! We’d love you to meet Rosalinda, one of our amazing social work students currently doing her placement at Ethni.

Rosalinda is a 25-year-old Australian-born Filipino/Spanish social work student at Griffith University who is passionate about connection, kindness, and creating safe spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves.

She has experience supporting young people, individuals, and groups through mentoring, life skills, education, job support, and strengths-based engagement. Rosalinda believes in working alongside people at their own pace and empowering them to achieve their goals.

Outside of work, Rosalinda enjoys spending time with family, going to the gym, long walks, gaming, and crocheting.

What motivates her most is helping young people become the best versions of themselves and reminding them that they always have someone cheering them on.

Reclaim the Narrative!!

For too long, the media has used a narrow lens to define us. Words like “aggressive,” “oppressed,” and “un-Australian” have been used to overshadow our true identities and achievements. It’s time for a change.

At The Margin, we’re not just challenging these outdated perceptions-we’re rewriting the story. We believe in the power of ethnic women to shape Australian culture and lead the way in media literacy and creative expression.

It’s about more than just representation; it’s about impact. It’s about creating a future where our voices are heard, our stories are told, and our contributions are celebrated.

Are you ready to join?

💜CREATE.
💜CRITIQUE.
💜HOLD POWER TO ACCOUNT.
💜CHANGE NARRATIVES.

Transgender and gender-diverse people from CALD communities continue to face barriers to safety, healthcare, and acceptance. Today we honour their stories, recognise their strength, and celebrate the resilience they have carried throughout history. May we continue to challenge systems that were never built with them in mind and create spaces where everyone can live safely and authentically. 🌈

Meet Saniya!

Hello lovely people! We’d love you to meet Saniya, one of our amazing social work students currently doing her placement at Ethni.

Saniya is a third-year Social Work student at Griffith University and an international student from India. She currently works in aged care, where she has developed strong communication and connection skills while supporting others.

Her passion for social work began at a young age after visiting an orphanage, which inspired her desire to bring joy and support to others. Witnessing her mother’s journey with mental health also deepened her understanding of the importance of empathy, community, and non-judgmental support.

Saniya is passionate about creating safe spaces where women feel seen, supported, and empowered. She values lived experience and peer mentoring, believing shared stories can build resilience and genuine connection.

During her placement, she is excited to support events, social enterprises, and programs like Heal, Grow, and Lead, while gaining hands-on experience working with the community.

Outside of study, Saniya enjoys reading, spending time in nature, walking, and exploring shows from around the world.

“Straight? I don’t even walk that way.”

LGBTQ+ communities aren’t one-size-fits-all. Q***r individuals living with disabilities, chronic conditions, or different mobility needs deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

Access. Representation. Acceptance.

They aren’t optional - they’re essential.

Pride comes in all forms, all bodies, and all journeys. Every story matters. Every person belongs.
