It is not often I am left speechless but our Kaiako Marcia Meyer presented KKCC with this beautiful taonga at our first Te Toi Raranga Noho at Kupdiabin on the weekend, that she made in memory of our departed Kono sister Paula Wanakore. This taonga represents the deep bond that Kono had with Paula and everything that she represented for her passion for weaving. Weaving a kākahu / korowai was on her list of things to do and Marcia Meyer made this in true Paula time, so one can only think that Paula helped along the way and got to make her first one through Marcia Meyer. I will forever be grateful to you Marcia for creating this beautiful taonga and please know...I still get emotional thinking about it. Chrissy said when she put it on it felt like she got a hug from Paula so it means so much to us that words cannot express...just feels. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🥰🥲😘🥹😍
