Combined with gentle breathing, these easy to learn mainly standing postures support & strengthen the body in returning to it’s natural balanced state of health (of yin/yang). Qi (or chi) is the life force energy that runs through everything, whilst Gong means practice. Qigong has been part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 6,000 years. Through the regular practice of allowing Qi to flow throughout the body without blockages (which cause illness & disease), Qigong helps to maintain your natural healthy & harmonious state, reducing stress & anxiety, detoxing, restoring energy & strengthening your physical body. The movements help you to connect with your body’s wisdom as you start to tune in & feel. Run by Mel Bean, who first discovered Qigong whilst recovering from her diagnosis of Breast Cancer in 2016, she has undergone practice with Master Lisa McEvoy & Practitioner Training from Qigong Master Simon Blow. After briefly trying Tai Chi, Melanie found that Qigong was a better fit being based on the flowing Self Care practices of TCM, rather than martial arts. Learn to prioritise your wellness. Feel empowered to take control of your own health & wellbeing by coming along to classes. My hope is for you to feel & know the incredible benefits as I've experienced for your Mind, Body & Breath. Classes are open to all ages & held on the beautiful Central Coast. Unlike yoga, there is no need to stretch/flex your body into uncomfortable postures but rather gently lengthen & feel into your own level of ability increasing slowly, softly & smoothly. Eating for the Earth Element 🍃🍠💛
Further to the previous post as we embrace the season of Late Summer in TCM ☀️

Foods to eat:
Nourish nourish nourish! 😋
Naturally sweet fruit eg. peaches 🍑 & veg. Wholegrains, chickpeas, lentils, root veg eg. sweet potato, pumpkin 🎃 onion, banana 🍌 carrot 🥕 coconut, almonds, honey 🍯 rice, soya bean.
This week I happened to have lots of sweet potato so yum 😋

Avoid processed, cold, raw dairy & fried foods as they add dampness to the body.

Craving sugar can show up as Spleen deficiency.

Good gut bacteria is important for your immune system. Get some colourful sauerkraut like our healthy organic locals or clean out your system with a calming Colonic

Chewing food properly & not drinking whilst eating can improve your saliva known as the Elixir of Immortality! 👅

Drink: Warm drinks like Rosehip, Ginger 🫚 or Puer Tea🫖

Activities: Keep enjoying sunshine ☀️ outdoors with Yang starting to slow down, it’s time to centre & nourish yourself or get creative with crafty homemade gifts.

THIS IS THE EXPERIENCE OF WHAT QIGONG BRINGS TO US 🙏🏼
Thank YOU for sharing 💕 I’m deeply grateful for receiving this. It means the absolute world to me to know how much benefit you feel when you open up the beautiful nurturing that Qigong can bring.

I’m here to hold the space but it’s YOU who opens up into the wonderful peace you deserve. When we feel safe to let go, soften & become present to ourselves, we can gently land into the surrendering. We can unplug from the myriad of distractions - including our own thoughts, emotions & reactivity. We can then tune into what we actually need & flow through the ups & downs with a renewed calm sense of alignment.

It doesn’t happen overnight but with continuous practice done consistently this stuff works! Like learning anything new - it can take time as we realise how important it is to feel into OUR needs.

If you’d like to try a “new” approach, that’s in fact ancient, give Qigong a go. It’s so much more than just a class!
