🌍 World Diabetes Day | 14 November 2025
This year’s theme: Diabetes at Work 💼
World Diabetes Day (WDD) is the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign, reaching over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries. It is held every year on 14 November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin with Charles Best in 1922.
Created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization, WDD became an official United Nations Day in 2006.
💙 Diabetes challenges at work
430 million people with diabetes are of working age. Many face stigma, discrimination, anxiety, and limited access to care and support in the workplace.
🏢 Unhealthy workplaces — lack of physical activity, limited healthy food choices, and little mental well-being support — can increase the risk of diabetes and other health issues.
💡 Do more for diabetes at work
Employers can create safe, supportive, and healthy work environments. Let’s “know more and do more for diabetes at work.”
