People often ask me what Green bosch is... well if you've heard of rooibos - green bosch is simply the green (or un-oxidised) version... so it contains all the health benfits of rooibos - only better.

People know green tea as being high in antioxidants - well rooibos has more & being the unoxidised version, green bosch has even more again! So super high in antioxidants.

It contains quercetin which is a lovely anti-inflammatory & beneficial for preventing & treating allergies with an anti-histamine like effect.

It can increase glucose uptake to improve blood sugar levels, improves cholesterol, blood pressure & circulation; supports digestion, healthy skin & hair; strengthens bones & alleviates aches & pains.

And if like me you aren't a fan of the flavour of rooibos, then the good news is that green bosch has a fresher & milder flavour.

You can find green bosch in my following tea blends:
🍵Green chai
🍵Green bosch & lemon myrtle (discontinued with only a few bags left)
🍵 Chocolate rose
🍵Relieve
🍵Mum & Bub
🍵Bone blend

You'll find me tomorrow morning (8-11) at the Goulburn Farmers Market, or you can purchase my tea blends online, Little Trade Co. & Goulburn visitor information centre.

In all blue zones, people continue to garden even into their 90s and 100s. Gardening is the epitome of a blue zones activity because it engineers more mindless movement into our lives. But did you know that gardening is good for your mental health, too?

7 BENEFITS OF GARDENING ON YOUR MENTAL HEALTH

YOU CAN DEPEND ON IT: Studies show uncertainty affects our mental health. A neatly cut lawn or a yard full of blooming flowers can put some normalcy and certainty back into your life.

GREEN IS GOOD: Just being outside in a green space is good for your mental health and can result in reduced stress.

BETTER NUTRITION: It's no secret that healthy eating boosts your mental health. Plant an array of colorful vegetables such as sweet potatoes, eggplant, green beans, and swiss chard for a healthier menu.

GARDENING AS EXERCISE: It’s not just running and biking that gets the endorphins going. Researchers say gardening counts as exercise, too. Just a few minutes of gardening can help lower your levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

GARDENING AS CONNECTION: Caring for a living garden, or better yet a community garden, can reconnect you with a sense of purpose, and keep you surrounded by like-minded people.

BEING MINDFUL: Activities such as pruning roses or cutting back bushes, afford you the opportunity to practice being in the moment. It’s a practice that has proven mental health benefits.

PRIDE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT: Don’t have a big plot of land? Create a balcony garden or kitchen herb garden to improve your mental health.

Forget grandiose new years resolutions! Come February, willpower has mostly fallen by the wayside, and for good reason: 2026 is your year to replace die-hard resolutions with simple diet and lifestyle shifts supported by your environment that can have lasting power—adding years to your life, and life to your years.

How to begin? Sit back, relax, and tune-in to docuseries Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones. You'll travel around the world with Dan Buettner to discover five unique communities where people live extraordinarily long and vibrant lives.

In the early 2000s, Dan Buettner collaborated with National Geographic to reverse-engineer a formula for longevity. He scoured the globe for years in pursuit of places where people live much longer than average, and the concept of blue zones came to fruition. To date, the expeditions unveiled Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Ikaria, Greece; Nicoya, Costa Rica; and Loma Linda, California, as blue zones with the highest rates of living centenarians.

These five spots share some similar elements — a plant-based diet, natural movement, and putting family first — that have been proven to promote longevity and health in residents.

Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones takes members around the world to investigate the diet and lifestyles of those living the longest lives. Explore the original blue zones, be immersed in their culture and lifestyles, and see how Blue Zones is applying the research in communities across the United States. Buettner offers insight on how to benefit from following at least some of their leads, because the only thing better than looking good as you age, is feeling good as you age.
