We have many oils available for our use, and generally speaking, as long as they have not been tainted with toxins or genetically modified, they all have nourishing benefits to our bodies. Unfortunately, many of them should not be heated as this turns them rancid and therefore contributes to the build up of toxic plaque (ama) in the body.
There are a couple of oils that are Ok to heat- coconut oil and rice bran oil.
However, the best and most compatible oil for the human body, according to Ayurveda, is GHEE.
GHEE is made from unsalted butter. Through the cooking process the milk solids are removed, LDL (bad cholesterol) is lower and HDL (good cholesterol) is increased. GHEE contains a fatty acid called butyrate acid, which plays an essential role in digestive health. It also has anti-inflammatory effects.
GHEE has a calming effect on the nervous system, is good for the memory and intellect, it is helpful in digestion and will help build the immune system.
In Ayurveda, GHEE can be mixed with certain herbs and used as an ointment for skin irritations and other applications.
While it is a fat, it has a lightness to it, and over time can raise a person’s frequency with the affect of calming emotions.
GHEE will not burn easily or go rancid like butter.
While you can buy GHEE in supermarkets it may be mixed with other fats. I highly recommend that you make your own GHEE.
Homemade GHEE takes on the frequencies emitted by the maker, so be happy in the knowledge that you are making something good for yourself and your loved ones. Homemade GHEE smells like butterscotch toffee- rich and sweet. It really is easy to make…
How to make GHEE:
👉Take 500gms unsalted butter and melt it over a moderate heat.
👉Do not stir during this process.
👉Watch as the foam forms over the surface, there may be lots of bubbly noise to start with. You will observe the changes in the foam, you can gently move the foam aside and see the butter become clear and the solids either stick to the bottom of the pan or stay in the foam. You will notice the bubbly sound reduce till there is silence.
👉The frothy foam on the top will start to caramelise (go brown around the edges). The GHEE is made, all you need to do now is strain off the waste.
👉Line a wire strainer or colander with cotton muslin or paper towel and slowly pour the hot ghee into the strainer over a bowl or jar. Put a lid on it and store by your stove ready to use.
