Council is seeking community feedback on a proposed upgrade to the intersections of Kokoda Terrace, Robertson Avenue, Starcevich Road and Aleppo Street in Loxton.
With increased traffic, nearby industrial activity and the new Loxton District Childrenโs Centre โWoodleighโ under construction, Council is exploring the installation of a single-lane roundabout to create a safer and more efficient intersection for all road users.
The proposed design aims to:
โ Enhance safety, especially for children and families
โ Improve traffic flow and reduce delays
โ Create safer crossing and turning movements
โ Support future residential and industrial growth
โ Maintain efficient heavy vehicle access
As part of the concept design, the central median on Aleppo Street (between the two one-way sections of Kokoda Terrace) would be removed. This will simplify the road layout, improve visibility, and support the safe operation of the roundabout due to the low traffic movements recorded.
These combined improvements are intended to deliver a safer, more cohesive, and future-ready road network, ensuring that the area can accommodate growth while prioritising the safety of the community and the new childcare centre.
A concept design, along with more information, is available online via https://engagement.lwdc.sa.gov.au/proposed-roundabout-upgrade-loxton
We invite the community to review the concept design and share feedback using the online feedback form before 5pm, Wednesday 24 December.
*Please note, Facebook comments will not be reported to Council as part of the consultation results.
