Calm waters… competitive spirits.

Our team celebrated a belated Christmas with a sunrise canoe adventure a few weekends ago, thanks to Riverland Canoe Adventures. Starting off on serene water and ending with a few “accidental” splash attempts and unofficial races. Nothing like a bit of healthy competition to wake everyone up before coffee!

We’re excited to announce that our Aqua Dance Program is starting up again for 2026 — led by Kaitlin!

This fun, low-impact class is designed to help you:
- Improve strength and balance
- Support joint health
- Boost cardiovascular fitness
- Move with confidence in a supportive environment

Exercising in water reduces pressure on joints while providing gentle resistance, making it perfect for anyone managing pain, returning to activity, or looking for a safe and enjoyable way to stay active.

Please contact us if you would like to join a group in 2026.

Over the New Year break, our team, with the help of some fantastic local businesses, completed our 6-monthly Aquaflow facility clean. This involved deep cleaning every surface, servicing equipment, and repairing key parts of the paddlewheel. Piper (our team leader) was helped by Kaitlin and Sue - although the photos may suggest Sue’s floor level support is actually a power nap! Trust us she did her bit!

Thanks to - Andrew Lange: On Point Engineering and Maintenance, Steve Emery: Creative Pools & Landscaping, & Andrew Baker: A1 Jet Cleaning

A recent study from New Scientist (2025, C.Simms, 'Strict Routine Slows Cognitive Decline') found that people at risk of dementia who participated in regular exercise showed improvements in cognition, with supervised exercise giving a mild additional boost. Overall, the study suggests that a structured routine can slow cognitive ageing by 1 to nearly 2 years!

Key takeaways for better brain health:

Regular exercise - even more effective if supervised
Consistent daily routines and healthy habits
Mindfulness and wellbeing practices
With the New Year upon us, it’s the perfect time to start small, steady habits that support your mind as well as your body.

Take control of your brain health in 2026 - your future self will thank you!
