A simple practice that you can start today: Sit down and eat without distractions.

It’s a common thing, that device in your hand, that may right now be on your table or couch as you eat your meal with the tv running too and the iPad sitting nearby buzzing away. Or at the cafe as you drink your cup and enjoy a weekend brunch while scrolling through your phone.

Is that a familiar scene?

It’s all too common and it’s eating unconsciously.

What is this doing to your nervous system? To your body? To your mind?

Try this for 1 week. It’s a simple home practice that you can start today.

Use the time to enjoy the textures and flavors of your food.

Engage Your Senses: Focus on the aroma, taste, and texture of your meal. This not only relieves stress but also prepares your digestive system for a smooth processing of nutrients.

Consistent Practice: Integrate these changes into your daily meals. Use a timer or set a reminder to help establish a new routine until it becomes second nature.

Observe the Changes: Keep a simple journal of how you feel after meals. Note improvements in digestion and overall energy levels, which can guide further tweaks to your approach.
