π« Lung Cancer Awareness Month
With around 15,100 cases estimated, lung cancer is estimated to be the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia in 2025. Of the 5 most common cancers in Australia, its survival rates are the lowest.
π In July this year a new National Lung Cancer Screening Program began, offering free biennial low-dose CT scans to high-risk individuals to detect cancer early before symptoms appear, which is projected to prevent over 500 deaths annually.
