🎉 Another exciting approval! 🎉

One of many recent wins, Bianca’s XT4 power wheelchair trial application has been approved by the NDIS, with delivery on the way.

Earlier this year with her occupational therapist Kayla and equipment supplier John, Bianca trialled the XT4, and demonstrated how well it supported her needs. With its strong all-terrain capabilities, she’ll soon be able to access the beach again and re-engage in social and sporting activities with her family!

Claire is an APA Titled Neurological Physiotherapist with an impressive background and unwavering dedication to helping adults with neurological conditions thrive. Based in Cairns, she delivers evidence-based therapy with compassion, skill, and expertise.

✨✨ Swallowing Awareness Day is an opportunity to bring attention to people with swallowing needs and connect them with speech pathologists, the professionals who can help. ✨✨

🍽 ☕ Swallowing difficulty (dysphagia) is any problem with sucking, swallowing, drinking, chewing, eating, controlling saliva, taking medication, or protecting the lungs from food and drink 'going the wrong way'. ☕ 🍽

It can be a problem with keeping the lips closed so that food, liquid or saliva doesn't dribble out. Sometimes, the first sign of a swallowing problem is coughing, gagging or choking when eating and drinking.

If you have any of the above concerns, reach out to your speech pathologist!
