📚 We’re keeping up with our wombat theme again this week with ‘Wombat Goes to School’ as we prepare our School Readiness learners for Prep next year!

✏️ Through this story, we’re exploring routines, confidence and independence to help our little learners feel confident for their big transition to school.

During our School Readiness sessions, we had some great discussions during this book about what else we could add to our own Wombat Stew!

This timeless story helps children explore rhyming words, sequencing, and storytelling, which is why it’s our Book of The Week this week in our School Readiness sessions.

Did you know that stories with rhyme and repetition, like ‘The Gruffalo’, help children develop phonemic awareness. This is an essential skill for early reading and language development!

They loved this activity so much this afternoon that they actually asked to keep going and do more 🙌🙌

When you hit a student with a ‘draw four’ and then…

…they gang up on you and each add their own so you end up drawing 12 😅😳

Needless to say I was not the winner of our game this afternoon, but the kids got a big confidence boost from beating the teacher so I’ll take that as a win instead 🙌

This beautiful story teaches children to see accidents as opportunities for creativity and resilience.

We love exploring these ideas with our School Readiness learners and finding a positive attitude when we have own our ‘beautiful oops’ moments!
