Experiencing any of these symptoms in your hand, tingling? Numbness? Weak grip? It could be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which occurs when the median nerve is compressed at the wrist.

What can this lead to?
• Numbness or tingling in the thumb, index, and middle fingers.
• Weak grip strength.
• Night pain or waking with “dead hands”.
• Dropping objects more often.

Why Women?
Hormonal changes can increase swelling around the wrist, which can place more pressure on the median nerve.

Commonly seen during:
• Pregnancy, especially in the third trimester.
• The early postpartum period.
• Menopause.

How physio can help:
✔️ Wrist and nerve gliding exercises.
✔️ Postural support and advice.
✔️ Taping or bracing.
✔️ Activity modification.
✔️ Education to help reduce flare-ups.
If symptoms are persistent or starting to affect daily life, it may be time to get it checked. https://bit.ly/41Aqspg

Ulnar-Sided Wrist Pain? Maybe TFCC.
Pain on the pinky side of your wrist during sport or gym work? It might not be “just a sprain”; it could be a TFCC injury.

The TFCC helps with:
✔️ Grip Strength.
✔️ Twisting Movements.
✔️ Stability through the wrist and forearm.

Common Causes:
• Falling onto an outstretched hand.
• Repetitive loading.
• Heavy lifting with poor wrist position.
• Sudden twisting movements.

Signs to watch for:
• Pain on the pinky side of the wrist.
• Pain with twisting.
• Clicking or catching.
• Weak grip strength.
• Pain with push-ups or weight-bearing.

Common gym aggravators:
• Push-ups or planks.
• Front rack position.
• Heavy pressing with an extended wrist.
• Barbell work without good wrist control.

What can help:
✔️ Modify loading.
✔️ Keep the wrist more neutral.
✔️ Avoid pushing into the painful end range.
✔️ Get it checked early.

TFCC injuries can linger if they are not managed properly.
If your wrist is affecting your training or not settling down, it may be time to get it checked. https://bit.ly/4tSlEaG

Wrist pain in sport? It’s annoying, isn’t it!

Your wrist is a complex system of eight small bones working together to create strength, control, and precision.

When one part of the wrist is not moving well, the whole wrist can be affected.
This matters for:
✔️ Load-bearing movements.
✔️ Grip strength.
✔️ Stability and control.

Common causes of wrist pain in sport:
• Overuse.
• Poor lifting techniques.
• Falls onto an outstretched hand.
• Weak forearm muscles.
• Limited wrist mobility.

Signs you should not ignore:
• Pain with weight-bearing.
• Clicking or instability.
• Swelling or stiffness.
• Pain, pins and needles, or numbness.

To help protect your wrists:
✔️ Warm up before training.
✔️ Build forearm and grip strength.
✔️ Improve mobility gradually.
✔️ Progress loads sensibly.

Because the wrist is so complex, small injuries can be easy to miss. If symptoms persist or start affecting performance, get it checked early. https://bit.ly/4th8m85

“Do you need to avoid exercising because of pelvic pain or endometriosis?”

Just like the meaning of a red/orange beach flag = Caution. Your body is telling you to change how you’re moving, not stop completely. With pelvic health physiotherapy, exercise becomes your ally (not your trigger):

🌸 Modify intensity (it’s not all or nothing).
🌸 Choose the right type of movement for your cycle & symptoms.
🌸 Down-train an overactive pelvic floor.
🌸 Build strength without flaring pain.
🚩 Ignoring the signs can keep you stuck, but listening to them moves you forward! https://bit.ly/4diCevD

Pelvic Floor … our dear old friend.

For our ladies out there, did you know that we work with women of any age with either of these pelvic floor disturbances:

- Bladder or bowel leakage.
- Pelvic pain or pain with in*******se.
- Vaginal heaviness or prolapse.
- Pregnancy or menopause-related symptoms.
- Urgency, constipation, or an overactive pelvic floor.
- Recovery after gynaecological surgery.
- Endometriosis, vaginismus, and more.

Understanding why symptoms are happening is a big part of care, so you feel informed, supported, and confident moving forward. If any of this feels “too close to home”, we’d love to help you! https://bit.ly/4uQRs11
