I recently completed my certification to become a Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga facilitator (TCTSY) and I'm excited to continue working somatically to help support people healing from trauma.
TCTSY is the first yoga-based empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
If you are feeling drawn to working in this way please contact me.

I’m feeling grateful to have had the opportunity to study and practice Schema Therapy in detail over the last 18months to be eligible to receive this certification.

Schema therapy was developed to improve outcomes for people who have ongoing difficulties, typically in response to complex or relational trauma (trauma that occurs in the context of relationships that we expect to be safe but often aren’t, such as caregivers and intimate partners) and it has shown to be effective in helping these people. But I also feel it is a great framework for all humans to help understanding why they respond the way they do to situations, and to help heal old wounds that show up in everyday situations.

If you want to know more about this approach, or if it might be a good fit for you, feel free to contact me.

A new study has been released on child s*x offending attitudes and behaviours in Australian men.

It’s important for us to be looking at the offenders, too often research is on the victim/survivors which leads to unintentional victim blaming and stigma.

1 in 10 men admitted to s*xually abusing a child
1 in 6 men admitted to being s*xually attracted to children

Men who offended against children were more likely to be married, work with children, and earn a higher income

If you are interesting reading the study you can find ithttps://www.humanrights.unsw.edu.au/sites/default/files/documents/Identifying%20and%20understanding%20child%20s*xual%20offending%20behaviour%20and%20attitudes%20among%20Australian%20men.pdf

Hi everyone, just an little update, the Ecstatic dance sessions are on hold for 6 months or so while I’m a bit time poor due to engaging in a 300hr Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga certification. This is an evidenced based complex trauma treatment that I’m really looking forward to sharing with the community in some form next year. I’m the meantime, remember to connect with your body and listen to it with curiosity in some form that feels useful to you. Take care and don’t forget to dance 😊
