🎒 First Year of High School – You’ve Got This!

Starting high school can feel exciting, scary, and everything in between. New teachers, new friends, bigger expectations – it’s a lot to take in, especially in your first year. The good news? Feeling nervous is completely normal 💚

Tips to help you cope in Year 7:

✨ Give it time – You don’t need to have it all figured out in the first week.
✨ Get organised – A planner or timetable can help reduce stress and forgetfulness.
✨ Be yourself – Friendships take time. It’s okay if you don’t find your people straight away.
✨ Ask for help – Teachers, school counsellors, and trusted adults are there to support you.
✨ Look after yourself – Sleep, food, movement, and downtime really matter.

Remember, every student’s high school journey is different. Take it one day at a time and be kind to yourself. If things feel overwhelming, reaching out for support is a strong first step 💬💚

✨ End-of-Year Team Break-Up Highlights ✨

The headspace Mackay, Sarina and Whitsundays teams came together to celebrate our end-of-year break-up - and once again, it did not disappoint! 🎉

After the Amazing Race through Caneland Central in 2024, 2025 saw the team channelling their inner detectives in a murder mystery challenge 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️

🏆 And the results are in…

🥇 1st Place – Shanacie Investigations
Followed the evidence, took immaculate notes, didn’t get distracted by vibes — unexpectedly intimidating. Flawless investigation… could absolutely be trusted with a real cold case.

🥈 2nd Place – Jazz Hands of Justice
Solved the case with confidence, charisma and absolutely unnecessary flair. Correct conclusions, reached with pure theatre-kid energy ✨

🥉 3rd Place – The Admin Bs
All the info… some of the conclusions! Incredible note-taking, but got lost in the admin weeds 📋

🧩 Puzzle Challenge Update! 🧩

We’ve done it again!
The headspace Mackay team has officially completed our second 1,000-piece puzzle on Friday - and with two weeks to spare before we close for the holidays! 🎉👏

What started as a fun end-of-year tradition has once again brought our team together, helping us slow down, connect, and enjoy a moment of calm during a busy time of year.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped place a piece (or a few!) - every bit counted. 💚

Now we can head into the holiday break feeling accomplished, connected, and maybe… already planning next year’s challenge. 😉

Social Media Ban – What’s Happening?
From 10 December 2025, social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat will be off-limits for anyone under 16.
The new law means platforms must verify users’ ages — not punish young people — to help protect mental health and online safety. 💚

Every year, the headspace Mackay team takes on a fun 1,000-piece puzzle challenge before the holiday break, a simple but meaningful way for us to slow down, connect, and practice teamwork.

This year, the team has absolutely smashed it and completed the puzzle already! 🎉
So now we’re wondering…
