We are proud to announce the arrival of Dragons of the Spectrum in Mackay!
The Dragons of the Spectrum (DOTS) is a fun, story-based social learning program designed for children aged 10+. Built around a simplified tabletop role-playing game, DOTS helps children build social confidence, emotional awareness, and peer connection in a safe, neuro-affirming environment.

Each session features targeted social-emotional learning followed by a collaborative fantasy adventure. Participants create their own characters and work together to solve challenges, explore new environments, defeat enemies, and engage with playful but meaningful social tasks—using the skills they’ve just learned.

Do you or someone you know like role playing games, fantasy or pretend.
Do you like Dragons, wizards and lore?
Do you want to develop your social skills and make new friends?
Are you under 18?
We are looking for a small group of individuals to join us on our first adventure running for 3 hours per session once a week over a 10-week period charged out at a 1:2 ratio (approx $110 per session). This will be kicking off starting 20th of March 3PM to 6PM. please contact us through messenger or via Info@thatplacemackay.com.au or call Steven directly on 0421001227 but be quick as spaces are limited. Our sunday magic the gathering adults group is getting intense!! Lets keep the cardboard slamming, if you want to learn magic or need small exposure to social situations before playing in large groups and are over 18 then give us a call.
We are also ready to start other social groups through the week such as dumgeons and dragons, leggo, puzzles, art and craft, board games, learn to cook, or other suggestions. Please contact steve with any expressions of interest or activity ideas. Or feel free to pop into our free drop in sessions on a saturday to meet our crew.
