Let’s Talk About Executive Function – Your Brain’s Secret Superpower!

Ever feel like staying organised, focused, or on track is just harder than it should be—for you or someone you love?
That’s where executive functioning comes in. It’s like your brain’s personal manager, helping you plan, prioritise, manage emotions, and get things done. And here’s the great part: these skills can be strengthened at any age.

If any of these sound familiar, you’re not alone:
“I can focus sometimes, but not when I really need to”
“I know what I need to do—I just can’t get started.”
“My child is so creative but struggles with routines and emotions.”
“Changing plans or shifting gears throws everything off.”

These are all signs that executive function skills might need a little support—and that’s completely okay. In fact, it's common for people with ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma or even just high stress or fatigue to find these areas tricky.

Create helpful routines – visual schedules, checklists, timers
Fuel your brain – with good food, hydration, and rest
Be kind to yourself – because growth takes time

With the right strategies and support, executive function can improve—and confidence grows with it. Whether you’re supporting a child, teen, or yourself, positive change is absolutely possible.

Plastic Free July Starts Now!

From humble beginnings in a small Western Australian community 15 years ago, Plastic Free July has grown into a global movement—one that’s sparked real, positive change for our planet.

Single-use plastics are a huge environmental headache. They pollute our landscapes and oceans, harm wildlife, and break down into microplastics—which have now been found in our lungs, brains, and even placentas.

But here’s the good news: you can be part of the solution.
This July, commit to just one plastic-free change. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about learning, trying, showing up, and doing your bit. Small steps really do make a difference, and together, they lead to big change.

Need a few easy swaps to get started?
🫙 Carry a reusable drink bottle
🥬 Buy produce without plastic packaging
🐝 Use beeswax or silicone wraps instead of cling wrap
☕ Bring your own reusable coffee cup
🥡 Store food in glass containers
🛍️ Swap plastic bags for reusable ones
