Family time done right! 💙

Dr Rod snuck in an extra-long weekend to catch up with his Dad & Partner (who flew in from New Caledonia!) and his Sister Dr Steph + her Crew all the way from WA. So special having the whole gang together again! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Big thanks to all our lovely patients for letting him recharge with family time 💆‍♂️✨

Fun fact: Dr Steph and her Partner Dr Gary are also amazing chiros — they run over in WA! Go check them out! 🙌

Today, Nikki from came in for her Spinal Decompression and adjustment. She got Dr. Rod all set to represent the club at the this weekend. The Triactiv8 Squad has some new athlete merch, and Rod's gone with team 'pink sunrise'... he'll definitely be noticeable but it’s the hat for us! 🤣 Good luck to all our patients involved in the Mackay Marina Run - a fantastic annual event that Dr. Rod loves to be a part of and runs in honour of his Mum 🫶

✨ MEET CARAGH ✨

Ever met someone who is pure sunshine? Well, that is certainly Caragh. Relocating from Rockhampton to join our team in January 2025 as a Chiropractic Assistant, Caragh is our sweet and bubbly country girl. Coming from a strong background as a medical assistant, Caragh’s natural ability to care and provide exceptional service is loved by many at our practice from adults to kids and even our four-legged friends who occasionally visit. Caragh loves animals [especially cows] and can’t wait to eventually find a little patch to call her own and enjoy her dream hobby farm. We can’t believe the lovely impact you’ve had on our My Chiropractor family already Caragh, we’re sure the best is yet to come!

✨ HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR ✨
For the past week we have been watching the amazing efforts of the and their volunteers to create this beautiful space to acknowledge and celebrate Chinese New Year. We think this has been a wonderful way to brighten a section of our city centre and be inclusive of the Asian culture/traditions and understand the significance of this special celebration...we also love the special handmade kite you popped up in our window too 💕 Well done can’t wait to see what other projects you have planned this year to keep our city centre vibrant 🌈

Last night Rod & his wife Sally attended the Australia Day Awards as Rod was nominated for Citizen of the Year. While he didn’t win the award, he said it was extremely humbling to be acknowledged as a nominee and was also very grateful for all the kind comments people have left. We still think Rod is a winner in our eyes but it was also lovely that Rod & Sally got to enjoy the night alongside another familiar face at our practice, Jody & her husband Adam. Jody is an incredible Triathlete that Rod cares for and she was nominated for Senior Athlete of the Year, which was also very deserving. Congratulations Rod & Jody, what legends 🫶

THE MAN BEHIND THE TALES

So many of you have been enjoying reading the incredible stories of a book we have in reception called ‘One More Chance: True Stories of an Australian Fisherman’. It’s been so great to hear people giggling and at times gasping while reading this book. So meet the incredible man and author behind the book, Greg Sichter (who is also a regular spinal decompression patient at the practice). Greg’s inspiring life and fishing adventures have not only seen him write a book but also have a YouTube Channel with over 32.9k subscribers.

Dr Rod received some unexpected news this week, he is a Nominee for Citizen of the Year at the Australia Day Awards. We know how much of a big heart Dr Rod has and the countless individuals and families he has taken care of pro-bono for the past nearly 20 years purely because he cares. He has given so much to the Mackay community and it was so lovely that one of his patients Tahnee wanted to nominate him and share the wonderful things Rod does. Let’s just say for a person who never likes to be made a fuss of and downplays all the things he does for others, this was very deserving and definitely got him in the feels (go Tahnee!).

We always say we have the best community at My Chiropractor, from our team, to our patients and associates and this lovely news was a beautiful reminder 🫶✨
