Christmas party number three and that’s a wrap! 🎄✨

Level 2 celebrated Christmas in style with a beautiful three-course meal, live entertainment, and plenty of quality time shared with families.

Over the past three days, we proudly hosted 187 residents and family members, and it truly wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible teamwork behind the scenes.

A massive thank you to our AINs Izzy, Keegan and Mae — our residents looked absolutely beautiful, and your support did not go unnoticed.
To our volunteer Anne, your very first function and you absolutely nailed it — what a wonderful start!
A big thank you to our admin staff — from bookings to check-ins and welcoming our guests, we couldn’t do it without you.
A big thank you to our laundry team for making sure every tablecloth’s was perfectly cleaned and pressed — those finishing touches make all the difference.
To Zac, thank you for once again stepping in and helping out whenever you’re called — we truly appreciate it.
And to Wendy, our amazing GSO — you go above and beyond every single time, love a good reason to dress up, and are always ready to help wherever needed.

Once again, a huge thank you to our kitchen team — the food was outstanding and the feedback has been fantastic.
To our Wellbeing and Lifestyle team — three Christmas parties and a carols night all in one week… you’re mad! 🤣

And finally, to our families who continue to show up and celebrate alongside us — we truly appreciate you and love sharing these special moments together. 💛

Christmas party number two — done and dusted! 🎄
Fairweather celebrated with a beautiful garden party filled with live music, laughter and connection, and it truly did not disappoint.

A massive thank you to our amazing AINs, Sharon and Tania — you girls absolutely nailed it. To Jamie from maintenance for helping with the set-up and pack-down, we couldn’t have done it without you. A big shout-out to our double Wendys, our GSO team for making the space look beautiful and for always being so helpful. Thank you to our kitchen team for putting on a magnificent spread, and to Wellbeing & Lifestyle for supporting all the ins and outs to ensure the day ran seamlessly.

Most importantly, thank you to our wonderful Fairweather families for joining us and making it another true Fairweather family Christmas celebration. Your presence, smiles and ongoing support are what make these moments so special for our residents and staff alike. 💚🎄

The silly season is well and truly in full swing! 🎄
We were excited to kick off the first of our three Christmas celebrations with residents from Level 1, Bonny Doon, Cherry Lane and Brigadoon.

A heartfelt thank you to each team who helped make the day so special. To our Leisure & Lifestyle staff, thank you for the planning, set up and pack down.
To our catering team, we truly appreciate the time, effort and care that went into preparing and serving a wonderful meal enjoyed by all.

Thank you to our nursing team for always going above and beyond — from getting residents ready to supporting them throughout the day, your care and attentiveness never go unnoticed. And to our GSO and maintenance teams, thank you for the behind-the-scenes work, and support that keeps everything running smoothly.

A special thank you to the families who joined us on the day. Your presence, smiles and shared moments mean so much to our residents and truly add to the warmth and spirit of these celebrations.

These events are a true team effort, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone involved — many hands really do make light work.

We took home the grand prize — we won!!! 🏆🎉🌼

We are beyond excited to share that our Level 1 verandah revamp has officially won the Floral Frenzy grand prize! This victory isn’t just a win for our facility — it’s a win for our residents, who will enjoy and benefit from this beautiful, revitalised space every single day.

Thank you to our amazing community for the donations, creativity and teamwork that brought this project to life. From artwork and planter boxes to plants, tiles and signage — every contribution made a difference.

A special shout-out to Chris from Wellbeing & Lifestyle for going above and beyond, and to our maintenance team — Ren, Jamie and Zac — for always stepping up when we need you.

As the school year comes to a close, so does our intergenerational program for 2025 — and what a wonderful year it has been. We’ve treasured every visit, watching our school friends grow in confidence, kindness, and connection with our residents. We’re already counting down the days until we welcome them back next year.

A big shout-out to Pauline at Pacific Valley Christian School, who consistently goes above and beyond. From supporting the students to create their own games to thoughtfully adapting activities to suit our residents’ needs, her dedication shines through every visit. Pauline, you are truly amazing!

The festive season is fast approaching, and we’re delighted to share our plans for celebrating Christmas with our residents, families, and team members. This is always a very special time in our home, and we look forward to celebrating together with warmth, joy, and community spirit.

🎶 Christmas Parties & Carol Nights

We have a wonderful program of carols and Christmas gatherings planned throughout December:

Christmas Carols with Sister Anne and the Choir – Monday, 15 December at 6:00 pm
Level One, Cherry Lane, Bonny Doon, and Brigadoon – Tuesday, 16 December at 11:30 am
Fairweather – Wednesday, 17 December at 11:30 am
Level Two – Thursday, 18 December at 11:30 am
Families are warmly invited to join us for these events to share in the festive spirit with your loved ones.

Morning & Afternoon Tea

As in previous years, we invite all residents, families, friends, and team members to enjoy complimentary Morning and Afternoon Tea on Christmas Day.

Homemade festive treats prepared by our chefs
Beautifully decorated tables and seasonal cheer
No charge for these gatherings
Christmas Day Meals

Christmas Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be served for residents only, featuring special menus and festive décor.
To ensure a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for all residents, we are unable to accommodate visitors during these main meal times.

Families are, however, very welcome to:

Join residents for Morning or Afternoon Tea, or
Take your loved one out for a meal or activity on Christmas Day if you wish.
If you plan to take your loved one out, please arrange a time in advance so our care staff can ensure they are ready for your visit.

Residents who prefer to dine privately with visitors in their rooms are welcome to do so; however, please note that meals will be provided for residents only.

We truly look forward to celebrating this wonderful season together. Thank you for your continued support, understanding, and partnership in making this a joyful and memorable Christmas for our residents.

Over the past two months, our scenic ice-cream drives have turned into wonderful history tours of the Clarence Valley — and this month’s trip to Ulmarra was no exception! One of our residents, Roy, who was born and bred in the Ulmarra area and even born in the old Ulmarra Hospital, treated us to a personalised guided tour. His stories brought the town to life, and our residents were absolutely thrilled. In fact, they enjoyed it so much we’ve already been asked to run the tour again for another group!

We are excited to finally share the transformation of our Level 1 verandah! Over the past two months, our team has been working closely with our residents to bring our Floral Frenzy competition entry to life — an incredible opportunity to rejuvenate a space that means so much to those who call Mareeba home.

This has been one of our biggest projects to date, and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support, teamwork and generosity from both our staff and our wider community.

Donations and Engagement from Our Local Community
Our Floral Frenzy project was brought to life thanks to the kindness and contributions of community members, groups and local businesses. Their support helped create a vibrant, welcoming space our residents will enjoy for years to come. We extend our heartfelt thanks to:
• Raeyah Kapeen for our amazing ‘Rainbow Serpent mural… a massive piece so beautifully hand done
• The Men’s Shed and The Green Room NDIS for crafting our vertical planter boxes
• Mitre 10 for supplying pallets and delivering them to the Men’s Shed
• Roz for her beautiful selection of plants
• Gorman’s Glass for providing the perspex to protect our artwork
• Yamba Tiles & Lights for donating tiles for our mosaic tables
• Ellie for creating our stunning signage
• Jo Burns for donating additional tiles for our upcycled tables
