We've all heard the old adage - 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away' - well a bit of daily yoga can do the same thing. Current classes are taught in a gentle and slow manner, allowing time to feel what's happening in the body and to listen to its feedback. Time is taken to understand the breath, and the inter-relationship between body, breath and mind. You will be encouraged to move in a way that is harmonious for your body shape, for the life that you have lived, for the day you have just experienced, for the injuries and quirks that your body carries - we are all different and no two people practicing will look or feel the same. I also teach a closed class at a disability organisation for participants with Intellectual Disability. After practicing traditional martial arts for 7 years, I began yoga when an old friend invited me to a class. My friend didnβt make it and we met up later, but after feeling the benefits of just one class I wanted to learn more and explore further. I have continued learn, explore and practice for more than 17 years and have been teaching for almost a decade. With it, I have definitely become a calmer, kinder, stronger and more flexible person.
