International Day of People with Disability - Australia

In 2025, the theme is about supporting inclusion to make our community better for everyone.
This means everyone needs to work together to:
• give people with disability the same chances as people without disability
• make sure everyone can use health care and take part in education
• include people with disability in all parts of life
• take away barriers for people with disability.

John dived into the industry headfirst. He took to the challenge like a duck to water and we often have to pinch ourselves that we got so lucky to have him on the team. John has worked closely with HDS to train with some of our most complex participants including ABI and enteral feeding. His sense of humour, easy-going attitude and unique accent has quickly made him one of our most popular Scots! 😜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Let’s take a moment to appreciate what true person-centred support looks like in action.
Over the past 12 months, Wayne’s passion for music has flourished with the guidance of his support worker, Chris — a talented musician who’s shared his skills to help Wayne grow and develop his talent.

Today, with the encouragement of Chris and his Coordinator of Supports, Mandy, Wayne proudly showcased just how far he’s come. He entertained our Melbourne Cup guests with an incredible performance that had everyone singing and cheering him on.

Congratulations to Team Wayne — this is exactly what it’s all about!
