We Care Not for Profit was established with four things in mind. The first was “to provide effective clinical and social support intervention and services for children, young people and families.”

We are happy that eight years on we offer this in several ways
• Child and Family Services – family restoration, cultural planning and mentoring and personalised accommodation
• NDIS accommodation – prioritise healthy, social connection with family and friends
• Allied health team – supporting across the life span from children to young people, through adolescents and adults
• NDIS Community Access – offering support to complete everyday activities while building skills

International Women’s Day is on this weekend with plenty of events that celebrate the theme for this year ‘Give to Gain’.

This year highlights the power of women supporting women and the collective strength that comes from shared leadership, culture, and connection. As we welcome some amazing women into the Hunter and Tweed to share their experience and knowledge let’s create rooms where women can continue to shine.

What a great new resource and explanation behind the need for them

Individuals with FASD are over-represented in all areas of the justice system. There are many recorded cases of people with FASD “admitting” to offences which they did not commit.

NOFASD Australia has produced wallet-sized information cards which can be carried by people with FASD and other brain disorders. These can be handed to police officers and other professionals if needed. The cards explain that the person has a cognitive impairment and requires a support person to assist them in such interactions. The cards have space for carers to write their contact details so they can be contacted if such situations arise.

✨These cards can assist in providing some peace of mind as your young person starts engaging more independently in the community. ✨

Kristin brings the Tweed community together through After School program promoting exercise and nutrition and a Girls in Sport program encouraging local girls and young woman to explore soccer as a sport they participate in.
