Summer sunshine playdough and a beachy book on a 36 degree day! Play based speech therapy isn't always whiz bang fun cool toys. Its usually having a quiet one on one play with the child's favourite stuffy, a book share with target vocabulary thats familiar, and some gorgeous soft scented playdough provides me with along with some perfectly selected mini objects. It brings the book to life and allows me to integrate so many different language and communication goals into a simple sessions.

🎄✨ Holiday & Summer Break Update ✨🌞

As we head toward Christmas and the summer holidays, I’d love to update all our wonderful families about what’s coming up at Sea SaLT Speech and Language Therapy.

The last day of therapy sessions will be on Tuesday, December 16th.
The clinic will then take a break and will re-open for Term 1, 2026.

Over the holiday period, I will still be offering home visits and parent information sessions at , tailored to each child’s individual program and needs. Please reach out if you’d like to organise one of these supports.

Themed play! I love a theme, and being Irish, I especially love Halloween 🎃 👻 older children benefit from play based language building and problem solving too. For them, the play takes the pressure off and makes learning fun, engaging, and inviting. Oral language and literacy practice happening here today. This book has short spooky stories with comic style drawings and a lot of fart jokes. Standard. We use our play to recount the stories, work on comprehension and expression skills, and to have a bit of fun recreating favourite scenes.

A Multisensory approach to learning language through play is always my approach. Pairing a book with these beautifully created themed play kits from . No matter what their age, children love to play. Not a fan of playdough? Swap it out for rice or sand or even coloured chickpeas.

Tuesday - 12.15 pm weekly, 1.15 pm weekly, 2.15 pm fortnightly

Medicare, private health, private, DVA (fully covered), and NDIS (self-managed only)
