Specialist services for families living with autism including in-home, family camps, day and therapy

Recognising our community’s need for greater access to quality specialist education, Community Bank Mansfield & District has committed a $5,000 scholarship to help a local student attend Mansfield Autism School in 2026. The specialist school based at the Therapeutic Care Farm in Mansfield currently has 28 students enrolled; some attend full time, others part time and are dual enrolled with local mainstream schools. The school provides individualised programs tailored to each child's needs, with a low student to teacher ratio.
Some of our families can't afford our school fees of $5000 per year, so we are actively seeking support for up to 14 of our local students, as part of a broader fundraising campaign. The NDIS cannot be used to fund schooling.

Meet Brooke, our Lead Occupational Therapist who has worked with Mansfield Autism for over 7 years. She works alongside our Lead Speech Pathologist to develop and grow Mansfield Autism’s new Allied Health Department and has been integral in developing our independent living skills program for young adults.

Based in Melbourne and working from our Croydon office, Brooke spends about a week a month in Mansfield and is fresh off delivering our very first Early Intervention Family Camp at the Farm.
Brooke says that connecting with and empowering families is the most rewarding part of the job.
“When you see a caregiver successfully use strategies you have been working on - it is the best feeling, knowing that they can go away and improve their child’s life each and every day.”

Brooke has a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Occupational Therapy. She has a special interest in sensory integration so is always attending courses and pursuing further professional development in this area.

She credits Mansfield Autism with helping her develop many skills but most profoundly, her years working intensively in family homes across Victoria as a MAP (Mansfield Autism Practitioner) provided invaluable insight into the realities and lived experiences of families living with autism. “This has shaped my practice, values and how I work with clients and families,” she said

Prior to working with us, Brooke worked in a graduate position in Aged Care. We are so lucky that she made the switch to work with our autistic clients and families.

A massive foodie and a travel bug, Brooke is looking forward to an upcoming road trip around South Australia with her fiancé.

Melody & Harmony are back at the farm; all spruced up ready for the warm weather. (Thanks Lee) Our beloved ponies were off site being well cared for by our team because of all the construction that was underway. But now that we are in full services swing at the farm, it was time to bring them home. Melody is our white beauty and mother of Harmony. Welcome home girls

Our new, intensive family live in stays are making the news for all the right reasons. The stays are short, targeted, immersive, family focused & uniquely positioned to fill a glaring service gap. We're thrilled to find out we've been awarded a 2025 CommBank Staff Foundation Community Grant for $20k, after being nominated by a CommBank staff member who attended one of our recent family camps. The grant will be used to create sensory stations along our 2.1km perimeter walking track on the farm to enhance fine and gross motor skills and sensory processing and a floating jetty on the dam to improve access for our aquatic activities. Our fantastic support staff and OT will engage our clients in helping to create the stations. All of our current and future students, clients and families will benefit. Thanks

We’ve just had a spot open up for a family to join our Early Intervention Stronger Families 3-night stay from Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 November 2025!

This program is all about supporting autistic children (aged 7 and under) and their families. Over the three days, we’ll focus on:
🗣️ Communication
🎨 Sensory and motor skills
🧼 Self-care
🤝 Social interaction
🧩 Everyday life skills

This is a new program that is designed and led run by our amazing Allied Health team, and it’s kept small so every family gets the support they need. Some NDIS funding is required.
