In general clients feel more relaxed and happy after their treatment (i do integrate some vagus nerve stimulation in remedial treatments too).
In some clients i can see a real shift in their mood and energy when they come for a relaxation treatment / balance.
One of the reasons is the Vagus nerve stimulation and the shift out of the fight and flight into the relaxed state of the nervous system.
Combined with the bowen moves on acupuncture/acupressure points and the Meridians it makes a big the difference for body and mind.
The article below explains this well.

Hope for Depression β€” the Power of the Vagus Nerve and Bowen Therapy

New research has found that stimulating the vagus nerve β€” a key communication pathway between the brain and major organs β€” can significantly improve the quality of life in people with treatment-resistant depression.

In a clinical trial of 493 participants with major depression, those who received vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) showed measurable improvements in mood, daily functioning, and overall wellbeing β€” even after years of unsuccessful treatment.

πŸ‘‰ And here's where Bowen Therapy comes in.

Bowen Therapy has a specific vagus nerve procedure, and its aim, along with all Bowen moves, is to shift the body from the flight or fight response (sympathetic nervous system) to the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode) where healing can occur.

While the trial involved an implanted device, Bowen Therapy uses the body’s own healing intelligence β€” with no drugs, no force, and no devices β€” just targeted, mindful touch.

The vagus nerve connects β€” and so does Bowen.

The brain gut connection- this informative video explains it well.
Relaxing the nervous system will also have an effect on your gut.
Often during treatments a clients stomach can begin to β€œrumble” , showing exactly this connection.

The pause - so important in our busy life and also so important during the Bowen treatment. It really gives the body and mind time to relax and release.
In my treatments (very much depending on the client and their needs - someone who just had surgery or has a serious illness will need a different approach than someone with an acute, more remedial issue) i usually do a longer pause after my first set of moves on the body. I combine it with mindfulness breathing before we let the body and mind pause for a moment.
The change out of the fight and flight into relaxation is wonderful to observe and experience.

The pauses in Bowen Therapy are π™©π™π™šπ™§π™–π™₯π™šπ™ͺπ™©π™žπ™˜.

They allow us to relax and get into our parasympathetic state where healing can occur.

Sleep is so important for healing - during sleep our body and mind recover and re-energise.
Better sleep after a treatment is one of the β€žsideβ€œ benefits of a Bowen Therapy.
Body and mind are balanced and the nervous system calmed.

If you're not sleeping well, you're not healing well.

Rest at night = healing right.

Consider Bowen Therapy!

To some of my clients i like to compare our body to a car: regular service keeps it going!
I certainly make sure i have Bowen treatments regular and always feel great after - physically and mentally.
Balanced, relaxed and happy πŸ˜ƒ

As the saying goes, if we listen to our body when it whispers, we won't have to hear it scream.

Bowen Therapy - balancing body and mind - helping the body to shift out of the fight and flight modus into a relaxed stage.
Like lavender, it calms down your nervous system, helps you relax, feel happier and sleep better.
I also offer a combination of Body Balance (BB) sessions with singing bowls. The vibration and sound of the bowls add an extra tool for the body to let go and deeply relax.
This treatment is slightly longer than the BB, 75min to allow enough time for the body and mind to feel, listen and shift into your happy state. 🌻

Absolutely, such an important joint not just for your teeth. My teacher Ron Phelan (he worked with dentists in the UK) called it a β€œhidden imposter”. The TMJ disorder mimics many symptoms of other musculoskeletal problems. It can cause many problems like neck pain, back pain, headaches, migraines, clicking jaw and bruxism. An imbalance of the TMJ joint also affect your sense of balance physically and emotionally.
The correction with the Bowen moves are very subtle and effective.
Trained Bowentherapists can see looking at you if you have problems with your TMJ joint.
I just had a big win last Sunday, treating my son after a hard weeks work in the vineyard for thoracic pain, asking him if he has jaw pain. He was so surprised and impressed that i picked it up without him mentioning it.
Loved it, that look on his face πŸ˜€ feels so good when you can impress your kids πŸ˜‰

I get often asked how the Bowen technique works. This is a great explanation.
Loosening up the fascia through the very specific Bowen move.
I integrate into my remedial treatments Trigger point Therapy and lots of Meridian work (acupressure) as well as breath work, and mindfulness exercises.
For all healing the body and mind needs to relax, get out of the fight and flight to be calm and in balance.

This week lots of my remedial treatments were shoulders and upper back/ neck issues.
Partly caused by repetitive physical work, computer work, crafting or sports accidents.
Always so good to see when people walk out after the treatment able to move freely and are in no or much less pain than before 😊
The photo underneath shows some of the muscles which can be responsible for your troubles.

Dear page πŸ‘, i have another FB site under my name where i post from time to time.
I created this and my friends Bowen one a long time ago and nearly forgot about it… not being a tech person….
I somehow wanted to merge the sites together but that’s not working….. not sure what i am going to do.
Just posting this so you know there is another site you can join if you like a bit of information from time to time.
Thank you
I might eventually find the password to get back into the site πŸ˜†
