BIOMECH BALANCE
If you're a client of ours, you will know how much I rave on about building your glutes and pelvic stability! I must sound like a broken record.
Im passionate about back rehabilitation- having a long history of bulging discs etc. prior to finding reformer in 2014. I spent 2 years one-on-one with a Physio, learning all about bio-mechanics, ultrasounding my body as I engaged my muscles, learning how to activate them best. Im obsessed with anatomy and kinetic/biomechanic movements.
When i say that Reformer can help you with your body function- it's no lie! Yes, your back, hips and legs can be largely improved with the RIGHT treatment and instructors that know what they're talking about. I have current clients with back fusions, spondylitus, pelvic tilt, disc buldging.
But honestly, the pelvis is your body’s central crossroads — the place where your spine meets your legs and where every step, bend, and twist begins. It acts like a powerful load‑transfer hub, sending forces from the upper body down into the legs so you can move smoothly and stay balanced.
When the pelvis sits in a healthy, neutral position, the whole body works efficiently. But when it tilts or rotates too far, the ripple effect can travel up and down the chain — changing how the spine curves, how the hips load, and even how the knees and ankles track. Muscles may tighten or switch off to compensate, and movement can start to feel less fluid. Iver compensation can lead to a lot of lower back issues.
Strong glutes, a responsive core, and mobile hips, help keep the pelvis steady so forces move cleanly through the body. Because the pelvis sits at the centre of everything, even small shifts can influence posture, gait, and overall ease of movement.
