Questions to ask your kids now that they are back in the classroom:
Ask these during normal activities (homework, TV, reading):
• “Do words ever look blurry or move?”
• “Do your eyes hurt or feel tired?”
• “Do you get headaches, especially after reading or screens?”
• “Do you see double or need to close one eye?”
• “Is it hard to see the board / TV / signs far away?”
• “Is it hard to read small print?”
• “Do lights bother you or look too bright?”
• “Do your eyes ever feel dry, itchy, or watery?”
For younger kids, simpler phrasing helps:
• “Can you see that sign?”
• “Do your eyes feel funny?”
• “Does reading make your head hurt?”
