We’re SO excited to bring our Building Resilience program to Full Life Psychology in Term 4, for girls aged 10–12. 🌿

Thanks to generous support, it’s fully sponsored by the Queensland Gives Foundation for families on the Sunshine Coast!

This 8-week group program is designed to help girls feel seen, heard, and supported as they learn to navigate life’s tricky moments.

Led by our provisional psychologists, the group helps girls strengthen their emotional resilience, connect with others, and grow in a safe, empowering environment.

Each week, we explore topics like:

✨ What resilience really is and why it matters
✨ Healthy habits like sleep, nutrition, and physical activity
✨ Discovering personal values and how to live them day to day
✨ Building healthy, meaningful friendships
✨ Understanding tricky thoughts and feelings, and how to get unstuck
✨ Growing self-compassion and a resilient mindset
✨ Creating a personalised resilience action plan

It’s a beautiful opportunity for girls to build skills, make meaningful connections, and discover their inner strength.

We can live suppressing our basic needs due to negative past experiences, what we were taught as children, trauma, fear, internal unhealthy or unrealistic expectations of ourselves, and other unhelpful coping modes we’ve developed over time. To become healthier versions of ourselves we need to learn to rewire unhelpful beliefs and learn to feel our emotions, ask for help when needed, and put in boundaries. Whoever told you it was not OK to do so, we’re here to show you it is. But we understand it’s not an overnight change - it’s a journey to be able to rewire patterns and that too… is OK! Calling all parents whose teens are struggling with anxiety or stress 🌿

We’re getting ready to run another Hot Chocolate Circle – Coping with Stress group for girls aged 12–14, starting in Term 3 at Full Life Psychology.

This is an 8-week group therapy program where girls can come together in a safe, supportive space to better understand stress — instead of fearing it — and learn practical, evidence-based strategies to manage it. The group is led by our provisional psychologists, and it’s a place where girls can talk openly, support one another, and realise they’re not alone.

Each week, we’ll explore topics like:

🌿What stress actually is (and why our bodies respond the way they do).
🌿Simple, effective coping strategies.
🌿How sleep, movement, and what we eat can help us feel better.
🌿Time management and problem-solving skills.
🌿How to challenge unhelpful thoughts.
🌿Creating a personal stress action plan.

It’s also a great opportunity to build friendships and feel connected to others going through similar things.

Happy birthday to the birthday “twins” in our Full Life family. Friday was double the celebration with our Clinician Alex and Director Laura, both celebrating their birthdays on the same day! We decorated offices, we sang, we ate cheesecake, and we shared deep belly laughs - birthdays spent well together 🎉🥳🌿
