Equine Encounters Australia We offer highly experiential programs to support Trauma Recovery, Personal Growth and Leadership
(1)

Equine Encounters Australia (EEA) offers innovative and highly experiential programs which support clients to challenge their behavioural, emotional, cognitive, or relational issues, in order to develop sustained, positive changes in their day to day life. Our nationally recognised and clinically researched programs are delivered by fully qualified practitioners who are passionate about their work and draw on a wealth of real life experience to support clients. The horses form a key element in the learning or therapeutic process by offering an authentic reflection of their experience within the encounter - raising our awareness to what is present in our actions, behaviours even communication styles. We offer individual, couples and group programs

Our areas of specialisation are Trauma Recovery Support and Post-Treatment Breast Cancer Recovery Support, together with Resilience, Leadership and Mental Wellness Programs for Professionals

If you run retreats, psych-ed /therapy groups, or personal development workshops, it's important to remember EVERYONE has a back ‘story’ - including you.

Whether a big ‘T’ trauma or little ‘t’ trauma - it is very rare to find a participant in these settings who hasn’t encountered a traumatic, or highly challenging event in their background. These events leave both a psychological and somatic memory.

Groups are rich environments where the cohort can learn and share with each other - however, in a split second someone can be triggered and the dynamics change. In that moment it is vital you as the facilitator, know exactly what to do to maintain a calm, safe space - to be able to ‘bracket’ your own emotional response ( because we can get triggered too) and take control to lead the group through the moment.

These group skills are rarely innate, and not always taught in formal qualifications.

This is why we developed a highly experiential 2-day, (PACFA endorsed) workshop to share our skills, knowledge and experience to support practitioners, coaches and trainers who work in the mental health and personal development fields.

Our Story

Equine Encounters Australia (EEA) offers professional, innovative and highly experiential programs which support clients to address their challenges. Whether behavioural, emotional, cognitive, or relational our programs will help develop sustained, positive change. Our fully qualified practitioners draw on a wealth of real life experience and Equine Assisted Learning/Therapy principles (based on EPI Australia Model) to help deliver results. The horses form a key element in the learning process by offering an authentic reflection of their experience within the ‘encounter’ - raising our awareness in the present moment, to bring our attention to unhelpful thoughts and behaviours which hold us back. We offer both individual and group Trauma Recovery and Personal Development programs, as well as innovative Corporate Leadership sessions - in VIC, NSW and QLD.
