Support and Help at Work to Prevent Injury! In an independent national survey commissioned by the Australian Chiropractors Association, of more than 1000 Australians, 87% of respondents reported experiencing a work-related musculoskeletal disorder (WMSD).

WMSDs are caused by physical stress, mental stress, repetitive work and poorly set up non-ergonomic workspaces. Conditions like chronic neck and back pain, shoulder stiffness, and headaches are often linked to modifiable risk factors in Australian workplaces.

Spend hours on a computer for work or study?

The prevalence of neck pain is higher among office workers than in the general community, with studies suggesting 70% of desk workers report neck pain.

If you're a desk worker, you could be at risk of developing Tech Neck - a growing spinal health concern caused by poor posture and prolonged screen time.

Common symptoms include:
โš ๏ธ Headaches
โš ๏ธ Neck, shoulder, and upper back pain
โš ๏ธ Postural changes and spinal curvature (especially in older adults)

Adjust your thinking: Prevention is the best protection:
โœ… Maintain an upright, relaxed posture
โœ… Take regular movement and stretching breaks
โœ… Set your screen at eye level
โœ… Use an ergonomic chair (knees slightly lower than hips)
โœ… Consider a sit-stand desk to reduce spinal strain

Sedentary female workers are feeling it the most โ€” reporting neck pain at rates 22% higher than men (71.7% vs 59%), according to ACA's 'Impact of Tech Neck & Neck Pain in Australia' survey.

Early intervention through education can help reduce the incidences of work-related musculoskelatal disorders while early diagnosis and treatment can minimise the long-term harm and implications for workers and employers.

Work, sports, falls, strains, lifting, sitting for long periods, carrying heavy things, and even birth can all take their toll on your joints and interfere with the nerves that go to every area of your body affecting your health and how much you enjoy your life. Chiropractic care works to correct this.๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ™‚

Due to this, you may experience symptoms of stiffness, pain, numbness or tingling, and loss of movement or function. Chiropractic care can help.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Joints that arenโ€™t working properly will impact your health if left untreated. Chiropractic care works to correct these problems helping you to be healthy happy and enjoy what you love to do.๐Ÿ˜
