We need help.

Are you available on a Thursday morning for a couple of hours?

Are you a competent horse rider who can walk, trot (both sitting and rising), canter, pick up the correct lead at canter and generally give the horse the correct cues when asking him to perform a basic manoeuvre?
Our horses are amazing with our disabled riders but also need the exercise and mental stimulation of being riding by abled bodied riders. We are not providing lessons but are looking for people to join us on as Thursday morning to provide them with this under the supervision of one of our Coaches.

The Sign On Day for our Tuesday riders is 17 February and 21 February for our Saturday riders.
All riders must complete new forms for this year.
The links below will take you to the forms, both need to be completed before you can commence riding. Those who need a medical this year will be advised by email within the next week.

Our sign on days for 2026 are 30 January and 6 February for our Friday volunteers, 3 February for the Tuesday ones and 7 February for those who help on a Saturday.
You may come to any of them.
If possible click on both links and complete the forms before you come to sign on. If you are unable to do this they can be completed on sign on day.

2026 has begun with wonderfully positive news, and we hope it’s a sign of great things to come throughout the year.

We are delighted to share that Rotary Club of Maryborough City has made a very generous donation to support our work. In addition, Ken Ellis has kindly donated 20 bales of hay for our horses. Both contributions mean a great deal to us, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Rotary and to Ken for their generosity and for thinking of us.

It is with great sadness that we heard of the recent passing of our long term volunteer and friend Neville Scougall.
Nev volunteered with us for 20+ years. He was a very valued member of the team able to turn his hand to whatever needed doing - ground maintenance, building things, fixing things and helping in rides as a mounting officer, side walker or leader. He loved the horses, especially Bobby and they loved him back.
Neville was a quiet achiever who saw what needed doing and did it without fuss. We will remember him, especially every time we go into 'Nev's Shed' to get a screw, nut, paint brush or any of the other mirid things needed to repair a fence, replace a gate hinge, touch up the rails of the round yard etc.

We would like to thank everyone who supported us this year.
You may have turned up as a volunteer to assist us in running our Centre, sponsored a horse or a rider, donated items to our garage sale or tack for our horses, shopped at our garage sale, sold and/or bought raffle tickets.
We would especially like to mention Wide Bay Farrier Services Fraser Coast Rural Supplies and Maryborough Veterinary Surgery who look after our horses and are always happy to help, donating time, services, advice and patience.
