Founded in 1995 in Maryborough, Victoria, the philosophy of care at Havilah is to ensure all residents' wishes are respected. We provide care within an atmosphere of support, where each individual's emotional, spiritual, psychosocial and health needs are met according to each resident's requirements. Havilah is committed to quality management and continuous quality improvement. Havilah's Harkness Street site offers spacious living, natural light and award-winning gardens. The site comprises both residential care with special needs units and beautiful retirement homes. At Havilah the events calendar is always full and family gatherings are fostered. The Palmerston Street site offers modern aged-care living and facilities, a community centre surrounded by gardens and a range of independent living units to suit different needs in architecturally-designed comfort and style. We’ve recently appointed a Food Focus Group, bringing together a blended representative group of residents and resident representatives from Harkness, Raglan & Terrace.

The group met for the first time to discuss what makes mealtimes enjoyable and how we can keep improving plus we tasted new dishes from our upcoming summer menu. 🌞🍽️

Residents said:

“The tasting was a treat. I love the fresh summer flavours.”
“It’s good to have a say. Staff listen and act on our feedback.”
“More variety is great. The lighter dishes feel perfect for summer.”

This group helps shape menus, the dining environment and special events, and ensures feedback is recorded and actioned.

Thank you for your support during the significant transition to the New Aged Care Act and the New Aged Care Standards, which commenced in November 2025.

Throughout 2025, the Havilah Board and Executive team have engaged extensively with the Commission, fostering Government confidence in the current management of Havilah.

We look forward to another year of growth in 2026, with the completion of Boronia House and the continued expansion of our Havilah family.

Our sincere thanks go to our Executive team—Tracey, Dharmesh, and Stacey for their unwavering commitment and dedication.

The Board is also deeply grateful to all employees and volunteers, whose personal contributions and care support the choices and wellbeing of our residents.

🎉 Havilah cooking Roadshow – A Taste of Christmas! 🎄

This week, our residents joined forces with our talented chefs for a festive cooking roadshow filled with laughter, creativity, and delicious treats! 👩‍🍳✨

Together, we rolled up our sleeves and made:
✔ Rumballs
✔ Christmas Pudding Balls
✔ Florentine Biscuits

It was wonderful to see everyone actively involved, sharing stories, and creating sweet memories along with sweet delights. 🍬
At Havilah, we believe food brings people together – and this event was a perfect example of how cooking can spark joy and connection. ❤️

The Havilah Aged Care Executive Team came together for our Christmas break-up—an opportunity to reflect on the year that’s been and to acknowledge the people who make our organisation what it is.

We’re proud of the dedication shown across our services and grateful to our staff for their professionalism, care and resilience. We also thank our residents and families for their trust and partnership throughout the year.

As we look to the new year, our focus remains clear: strengthening quality and safety, supporting and growing our workforce, and continuing to deliver person-centred care that respects dignity, choice and connection.

Celebrating our last few months, we have had alot going on. We have had a visit from our local Bootscooters. We have been out and about for afternoon tea. The Melbourne cup Luncheon and games was a great afternoon. Enjoyed an afternoon at our Harness racing track. We have had several visits now from the AG Leech Kindy.

𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿!

Today’s International Men’s Day activation shifted into top gear as we welcomed the Maryborough District Historic Vehicle Club across our sites. The convoy toured through Raglan, made a slow cruise past The Terrace, and then rolled into Harkness for the main showcase — much to the delight of our residents.

With picture-perfect weather on our side, residents lined up at the entrance car park to watch the parade arrive before enjoying an up-close look at the impressive collection of vintage vehicles. Morning tea, delivered by our Leisure & Lifestyle team and personal care workers, fuelled the festivities with cakes, slices, and plenty of hot beverages.

The display sparked rich storytelling, with residents reminiscing about cars they—or their families—once owned. It was a genuine storytelling moment that connected generations and created a real buzz across our aged care community.

A big thank you to the Maryborough District Historic Vehicle Club for driving such joy into our day, and to Community Liaison Officer Martin Mark for coordinating this standout experience.

💚Centurions Enjoying a Beautiful Day at Havilah💚

The sun was shining and the breeze was soft and gentle as Dot and Madge relaxed outdoors, soaking in the serenity of the afternoon.

“It’s great to sit back and watch the clouds peacefully drift by,” Dot reflected, as the two friends enjoyed their afternoon tea and a chat that could have stretched back over a hundred years of memories and life stories.

A perfect moment of calm, companionship, and timeless friendship at Havilah. 🌤️🫖💕
