Today’s photos say it all—smiles, stories, and spoons diving into a good old Aussie classic: pavlova. For our residents, dining is about much more than nutrition. It’s connection, dignity, and joy on a plate.

We’ve been intentionally rethinking the dining experience to make every mealtime meaningful. Here’s what’s working:

Resident-led menus: Co-designing seasonal menus with residents, including cultural favourites and nostalgic classics like pavlova.
Choice, always: Flexible portions, textures, and timing—because independence and appetite go hand in hand.
Homestyle presentation: Shared platters, fresh herbs, and familiar crockery to make it feel like home, not a facility.
Sensory-friendly spaces: Warm lighting, comfortable acoustics, and mealtime music to set a calm, social atmosphere.
Trained teams: Upskilling staff in dignity in dining, texture-modified excellence, and person-centred service.

🎨 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 – 𝗔 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗵

On Monday, we proudly held the opening of our very first 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, showcasing the incredible talent and imagination of those who call Havilah home.

The exhibition features a diverse range of works — from paintings, drawings, and mixed media to glassware, textiles, photography, and sculpture — each piece telling its own story of creativity and heart.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for today’s opening and helped make it such a success!

Today we came together to celebrate 𝘿𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙞 – 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 with our wonderful staff and residents. 🌟

The atmosphere was filled with colour, joy, and connection as we shared in the spirit of Diwali — celebrating light over darkness and kindness over distance.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in, dressed up, and helped make the celebration so vibrant. 🪔💛

🌿🐦 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 🐦🌿

Our Harkness campus courtyard has a brand-new addition – a beautifully crafted bird feeder! 👏 James, resident of Harkness, with the assistance of the Dunolly Woodturners Group, constructed the feeder, which has now been installed in the courtyard complete with a suspended birdseed block.

Positioned for maximum viewing, residents will be able to enjoy watching visiting birds right from the dining area during mealtimes. With our gardens already home to many native species thanks to carefully planned native trees, shrubs, and bushes, we’re hopeful this feeder will attract even more feathered friends into the space. 🐥🌳

We have had some great events recently. We have had the McGrath singers visit us for a concert. We have had the Girl Guides come in and do some fireside singing in the afternoon. We have enjoyed coffee out in our surrounding districts and also we have enjoyed celebrating a Chinese luncheon.
