Building on a strong and growing patient base, Dr Ned has developed positive patient practitioner relationships, and enjoys a strong rapport with each person. He works collaboratively with each patient to address a broad range of health concerns over time.

While providing comprehensive general practice care to all ages - including medical assessments, chronic disease management, acute illness care, psychosocial wellbeing, and shared care planning - Dr Ned has a special interest in obesity and weight management.

He takes a holistic, patient-centred approach, recognising the medical, lifestyle, nutritional, and psychological factors involved. Care focuses on sustainable, individualised strategies, with medication or bariatric surgery considered when clinically appropriate.

Dr Nadeem has appointments available from Monday to Friday and is available for new patients. Appointments can be made online via our website or on HealthEngine.

Dr Nadeem joined our team in May. He is a 2nd generation renowned GP from Pakistan. He is enjoying working in the Australian health system and is looking forward to growing his patient base.
Dr Nadeem believes that a GP is like a family member, who should know their patients well in order to serve them.

Exciting News! We’re delighted to announce that Dr James Chanaka has joined the team at FFD in Maryborough. A highly respected and experienced local doctor, Dr James brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to patient care.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr James has extensive experience training junior doctors and has served as an examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. His expertise will be a valuable addition to our growing team of practitioners.

Outside of work, Dr Chanaka is an avid marathon runner.

His arrival is fantastic news as, with the recent arrival of Dr Ned, we now have more doctors available to accept new patients.

International Nurses day is held on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, 12th May. Often called “the Lady with the Lamp,” Florence Nightingale was a caring nurse and a leader. Read her story below.

At Francis Family Doctors we have a wonderful team of nurses who care for their patients in the same spirit as Florence. Sharon, Trisha, Jo and Jennie all are experienced nurses who excel in providing a high level of primary healthcare, stability, and support to the doctors.

We celebrate our nurses on this special day!
