Dr Fatima Ashrafi is a highly qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 20 years experience . She is consulting every Thursday at Northern Specialist Suites. Wait time is around 1-3 weeks. Dr Ashrafi has an operating list at Northeastern Community Hospital for private patients. A referral is required from your GP to obtain the Medicare rebate. Dr Ashrafi is happy to see private and public patients. It is that time again. Who can believe we are almost at the end of 2025! Northern Specialist Suites have had an eventful 2025, with the introduction of several new doctors, Dr Zannat Fatima our Geriatrician had her beautiful baby boy Omar, Associate Professor Toby Commerford coming onboard to replace her and Dr Fatema Ashrafi Gynaecologist also joining our team. We have another exciting and busy 2026 planned. Our team will be having a much needed break from 22 December and we will return on Monday 05 January 2026. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2026.

Dr Sunil Singh, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon, is currently on 6 months personal leave. He will be returning around December 2025. We will write to the referring GP and contact the patient for any referrals received to Dr Singh during this time. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Northern Specialist Suites is pleased to introduce Dr Fatima Ashrafi - Obstetrician/Gynaecologist to our practice. She will commence on 21 August 2025. Dr Ashrafi is a highly respected Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 25 years of experience over four countries. She is multilingual - with languages of Bengali, Urdu, Farsi, Spanish, Hindi and Iranic.

Our very own Clinical Psychologist, Andrew Mair,(pictured below) is appearing at the theatre production of "Billy Elliott". The opening was last Saturday and the reviews for Andrew's performance as Billy's father Jackie were very positive to say the least.
Stage Whispers says:
"Billy’s father, Jackie, is played with magnificent strength and power by Andrew Mair. The character must start to change in Act Two and show his sensitive side and start to become a fish out of water when he accompanies Billy to an audition in London. Mair does this spot on, with the humor in the London scenes as well-timed and portrayed as his strength and stubbiness throughout the previous act. Just one ni**le, not with Mair but a piece of staging during his song Deep Into The Ground sung so beautifully by him. Nobody else should move onstage except to leave. Having people walking about talking, even in mime, and the ballet girls running about at the beginning is terribly distracting and makes it almost impossible to concentrate on Mairs strong, powerful tones."

Well done Andrew, today Adelaide theatre, tomorrow Hollywood 😃.
