Psychological distress, like anxiety, depression, burnout, or trauma—isn’t just in the mind; it’s often felt in the body too.
Talk therapy can be really helpful for understanding your thoughts, patterns, and experiences. But it doesn’t always reach the deeper, non-verbal layers where the body may still be “holding on” to what words can’t quite release. This can leave you feeling tense, uncomfortable, or disconnected.
Somatic therapy is designed to complement cognitive and other forms of therapy. It can help the body catch up to what the mind already understands, or help the mind to reconnect with body sensations and emotions, to start making sense from the inside out - where words and meaning form over time.
STM is a gentle body-based practice that guides you to connect with your experience, both in body and mind and notice what's present.
For many people, body-based approaches like STM feel more gentle, accessible, and immediate, especially in the early stages of healing and can be a really supportive place to begin.
If this resonates, book a 1:1 session and explore if this approach feels right for you.
