My name is Jo and I am a Holistic Counsellor, Kinesiologist and Neurofeedback Practitioner. All of our practitioners have come together consciously and with a like-minded view to share and grow their profession and passion. More about the services we provide....

Kinesiology:

Kinesiology is a holistic approach to health & wellness that uses a combination of ancient eastern energetic healing techniques with western physiological sciences to identify structural, chemical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual imbalances in the body. Being a client centered approach to healthcare, the gentle art of muscle-monitoring is used to identify stressors and imbalances in our physical & emotional body, much of which resides in our sub-conscious. Using muscle-monitoring as a biofeedback tool allows practitioners to then apply healing techniques to balance the system as a whole and restore the body’s natural ability to heal. The practitioner is the facilitator to the clients own healing, empowering individuals on their own life enhancing journey. Neurofeedback:

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback is an extraordinary neuro-technology system that you can now access through our licensed practitioners and within the therapeutic setting. Used independently or in conjunction with Kinesiology and/or Counselling, it will further enhance sessions by detecting and monitoring changes in cortical patterns, and then ‘trains the brain’ (a bit like a PT coach) to fire optimally. Naturopathy:

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness and focuses on addressing the underlying cause of disease and disease prevention. Naturopathy treats the whole person - body, mind and soul - and sees the body as having an inherent ability to heal itself when in the right environment. Naturopathy draws on the healing power of mother nature by utilising herbal and nutritional medicine, flower essences, lifestyle changes and wholefoods to facilitate the healing process. Dharma Healing and Mindfulness Counselling:

Buddha Dharma and Mindfulness Counselling is not so much a model that one can just apply, but more of an attitude and approach that one can embody for self-study, and to assist those on a path of physical, emotional & spiritual development. The Buddha Dharma emphasizes the understanding of yourself - know yourself - thus the Buddha Dharma education is a practice of self-inquiry that leads you on a journey toward self-realization.

The Richards Trauma Process or TRTP™:

TRTP™ is an elegantly simple, yet comprehensive, step-by-step process which resolves extreme trauma and trauma-related issues – anxiety, depression, fears and phobias. It achieves results quickly, effectively and safely.

It is a truly eclectic therapy. It is a very structured, yet dynamic process. It includes components of Gestalt, Mindfulness, Ego-state Therapy, Choice Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Parts Therapy, Emotion-focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dream Rehearsal Therapy and others.

Shadow Psychology and Inner Child Integration:

The study of the unconscious/subconscious mind. (Think Jung). The aim is to reveal the blocks, beliefs and unhealed wounds that an individual holds in the unconscious mind. The idea is once revealed it can be explored and treated using appropriate healing techniques. Psychoanalysis is rooted deeply in both the Buddha Dharma philosophy and Holistic Counselling model. There are numerous therapies and treatments available that provide a framework for exploring the unconscious, subconscious realm (including TRTP - see above), and it is very effective when used in conjunction with a body-based technique such as Kinesiology.

Core to healing and growth is this shadow work and integrating the inner child. It is possibly the most profound process an individual can do. It will literally unlock every negative aspect, and offers deep healing and integration, resulting in a balanced sense of self, deeper understanding of who you are, and is key to an expanded, rich and wholesome life. If who you are, and who you thought you’d be feels miles apart, then shadow work may be for you. The combination of Kinesiology, Neurofeedback, Naturopathy & Counselling creates a gentle yet powerful opportunity that can support individual’s goals of healing while teaching clients mindfulness techniques and simple yet effective resources that empower clients leading to long term positive changes. Added extras:

We stock a range of organic products to nurture both your inners and your outers and will regularly post and review items that you can purchase directly from Pure Soul Wellness. Being consciously aware of what we put in and on our bodies is a fundamental principle we greatly encourage our clients to engage in and has been one of the core foundations in our own personal growth!

Emotional maturity doesn’t mean you don’t feel things.
It means you can feel them without being overwhelmed or shut down.

It’s expression with regulation.
Honesty with safety.
Emotion that’s allowed to move through the body instead of getting stuck.

This is what real emotional strength looks like — and it’s a skill that can be built over time.

Save or share this if you’re learning to feel without fear 🤍

Rest isn’t about giving up, it’s about responding wisely.

When rest is chosen intentionally, it supports nervous system regulation, prevents burnout, and creates space for true healing. Sustainable wellbeing doesn’t come from pushing through exhaustion, but from listening to the body and responding with care.

If this resonates, let it be a reminder that slowing down can be deeply supportive 🤍

So many of us approach healing from a place of self-fixing — believing something is “wrong” with us that needs to be corrected.

But healing rooted in fear often keeps the nervous system in a state of tension.
Self-leadership offers a different path.

It invites curiosity instead of judgement, and compassion instead of urgency.
When the body feels safe, real and sustainable change can occur.

Take a moment today to gently notice which inner voice has been leading you.
There’s no right or wrong, only awareness.

We’re often taught that healing means constantly working on ourselves — doing more, fixing more, trying harder.

But when growth turns into pressure, the nervous system can move into contraction and survival mode.

Healing doesn’t happen through urgency.
It happens through safety.

Sometimes the most regulating thing you can do is pause, rest, and allow your body to soften, without needing to earn it.

You are allowed to do less.
Your nervous system will thank you.

There’s a common misconception that nervous system regulation means being calm, centred, and unbothered at all times.

In reality, regulation looks like flexibility — the ability to feel stress, emotion, and challenge without becoming overwhelmed or stuck in survival responses.

Small, everyday shifts are often signs of meaningful nervous system healing.

Survival mode doesn’t always switch off in obvious ways.

Often, healing shows up gradually — through reduced urgency, increased capacity, and a quieter relationship with stress and emotion.

If you recognise yourself in these signs, it’s worth acknowledging how far your nervous system has already come.

Progress doesn’t always announce itself.

Many people feel pressure to keep adding more tools, more techniques, more “work.”

But healing doesn’t come from accumulation — it comes from integration.

When the nervous system is supported to slow down and feel safe, the body can actually absorb and stabilise the progress that’s already been made.

Integration isn’t passive.
It’s essential.

When someone is in freeze or dissociation, well-meaning advice to “push through” or “try harder” can actually increase shutdown.

What helps instead is gentle, trauma-informed support that prioritises safety and regulation.

Small, consistent signals of safety allow the nervous system to slowly come back online — in its own time.

Supportive therapies work with the body, not against it.

Freeze and dissociation are two of the body’s natural protective responses — and understanding the difference can help you feel more compassion and clarity during difficult moments.

🌿 Freeze
This looks like being unable to move or respond, feeling heavy, blank, or “stuck.”
It’s a short-term survival response when the system feels overwhelmed.

🌿 Dissociation
This feels like floating, disconnecting from your body, going numb, or watching life happen from a distance.
It’s often linked to past trauma or overwhelming emotional experiences.

Neither response means you’re broken.
Both are normal.
Both are healable.
And you are absolutely not alone in this.

Through somatic therapy, TRTP®, acupuncture, counselling, and gentle nervous system work, we help clients reconnect with safety, presence and grounding — at a pace that feels supportive and empowering.

If this resonates and you’d like help understanding these states more deeply, you’re always welcome to reach out 🤍

When people first learn about freeze and dissociation, a common response is relief — followed by self-questioning.

It’s important to know: these are not signs that something is wrong with you.
They are protective nervous system responses that developed during times of overwhelm or threat.

Your body adapted in the best way it knew how at the time.
Healing doesn’t require forcing change — it begins with safety, understanding, and support.

When the body is supported gently and intentionally, it knows how to restore balance.

Our sessions with Lucie integrate acupuncture, cupping, and therapeutic bodywork to help the nervous system settle, release held tension, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Clients often share how this work helps them feel more at ease, physically and emotionally... in ways that feel both efficient and deeply restorative.

🤍 Thank you for the trust placed in our care
