Clinics are often busy but not profitable for three reasons.

1. The wrong work is filling the day.
High appointment volume does not equal high-value activity. Poor appointment mix, low-yield services, and reactive bookings keep clinics busy without improving margins.

2. The team is under-utilised.
Doctors doing what nurses or admin could manage, nurses not maximised, and managers stuck in tasks instead of strategy. Capacity is lost every day through role confusion.

3. The numbers are not driving decisions.
Without clear KPIs, clinics run on instinct. Rosters, billing, recalls, and services are not aligned to performance, so effort increases but results do not.
