The first thing I prioritise with my midlife clients who want to feel better in their bodies is… SLEEP 😴

Before we deep dive into food and nutrition, exercise or lifestyle - we address sleep - Because if you’re not sleeping well, then no matter how many green protein smoothies you drink…your body’s repair, hormones, metabolism, mood and motivation are going to be running sub-optimally and you wont feel and function at your best.

When sleep improves, everything else follows and flows - energy, vitality, cravings, resilience, and that sense of wellbeing that makes you feel like you again.

This was for a workshop I held in October for Mental Health Month. Breathing and Nutrition for Mental Wellbeing. Who would have thought breath-work and cooking could go together so beautifully…but here is why they actually weave in perfectly together:

🍃Breath slows you down so you can actually enjoy cooking, not rush through it.

🍃Deep breathing switches on your “rest & digest” mode - your gut loves that.

🍃A calm breath = calm kitchen = better tasting food (fact).

🍃Breathing grounds you so you cook from intuition, not impulse.

What is this session all about?

Since being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, I have been in my anti-inflammatory era - Not in an extreme way…just choosing more of what makes my body feel good and less of what doesn’t.
