OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST(S) WANTED - full or part time, for a small private practice based in Boronia, Victoria, 3155.
Ideally, we are looking for experienced OT’s but, we are open to consider NEW GRADUATES.
ARE YOU ENTHUSIASTIC, READY TO LEARN and LIKE WORKING WITH A GREAT TEAM? THEN WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.
- Are you a new graduate looking to stand on your own feet but have strong backing?
- Are you looking to build on skills developed in clinical placement and start on your career road?
- Are you wanting to join a friendly and supportive team?
- Do you want the opportunity to participate in relevant and valuable professional development?
- Would you like to develop broad knowledge in equipment prescription and home modifications, a key area of Occupational Therapy practice?
- Do you want to learn about funding bodies such as NDIS, SWEP, Veterans Affairs and Community Aged Care Packages.
- Do you want opportunities to build on established skills / interests?
Your role:
- assessment of clients and finding ways to support them to maintain their independence
- equipment prescription (such as manual and powered wheelchairs, hoists, seating etc)
- minor and major home modifications
- creative problem solving, writing justifications, completing NDIS Assistive Technology applications and Plan Reviews.
- You will be working with a diverse group of clients with a wide range of physical disabilities and often complex needs
- Your clients will be living alone in their own home, with family, supported accommodation, community residential care units, or residential care.
- Covering much of Melbourne and rural areas to the east.
(You will have a side benefit of ability to have lunch in beautiful rural surrounds)
What we offer:
- support and mentoring
- professional development including yearly First Aid and CPR as well as OT specific education
- regular meetings over coffee, lunch, or brunch
- established connections with a range of suppliers
- flexible work arrangements allowing you to work from home
- laptop, I Pad, stand up desk, ergonomic office chair and mobile phone supplied.
- Office located in local shopping centre, free parking close by, Eastlink within 10 minutes.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Masters in Occupational Therapy
- AHPRA registration, current police check, first aid and working with children check
- Driver's license and a vehicle (Kilometres travelled are paid)
- Part time minimum 3 days.
