☀️ Hot Weather Alert – Stay Safe Today ☀️

Today is expected to be very hot, with temperatures reaching the high 40s in many areas. Please take extra care of yourself, your loved ones, and those you support.

💧 Stay hydrated

- Drink plenty of water throughout the day
- Avoid excessive caffeine and sugary drinks
- Keep a water bottle handy and encourage regular breaks

🧢 Beat the heat

- Stay indoors where possible during the hottest part of the day
- Use air conditioning, fans, or cool shaded areas
- Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and sun protection if heading outside

🐾 Don’t forget your pets

- Ensure pets have access to shade and fresh, cool water at all times
- Avoid walking dogs on hot surfaces – if the ground is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
- Never leave pets in cars, even for a short time

❤️ Check in on others
Hot weather can be especially tough for children, older people, and those with health conditions. A quick check-in can make a big difference.

Please stay safe, look after one another, and don’t hesitate to slow things down today if needed. 🌿

Happy New Year from all of us at Amity 💛

We’re not big on resolutions or big declarations. But we are big on showing up — with care, with consistency, and with space for people to grow at their own pace.

Here’s to the small wins, the quiet moments, and the steady support that makes all the difference.

Thanks for being part of this community. We’re so glad to walk alongside you.

Take care of yourself. And if you need us this year, we’re here.

✨ Welcoming the New Year Safely ✨

As we say goodbye to this year and welcome in a brand new one, we want to take a moment to remind everyone how important it is to stay safe during New Year’s celebrations.

New Year’s can be an exciting time filled with gatherings, fireworks, and celebrations—but it can also be overwhelming for some. Please remember to look after yourself and those around you. Pace yourself, know your limits, and don’t feel pressured to do more than what feels right for you.

As you celebrate, please remember to:
✨ Know your limits and pace yourself
✨ Have a safe way to get home
✨ Check in on your friends and loved ones
✨ Reach out for support if things feel overwhelming
✨ Take a break if you need one—there’s no pressure to celebrate a certain way or at all

For some, this time of year can bring up mixed emotions, stress, or memories from the past. That’s okay. You’re not alone, and support is always available. It’s important to prioritise your mental health just as much as your physical safety.

As we head into the new year, let’s lead with kindness, compassion, and care—for ourselves and for each other 💙

From all of us at Amity Mental Wellness, we wish you a safe, peaceful, and positive New Year ✨

🎄✨ Merry Christmas everyone ✨🎄

We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas filled with love, connection, and special moments shared with family, friends, and loved ones ❤️

We also want to take a moment to acknowledge those within our Amity Mental Wellness community who may find the Christmas period challenging or triggering. The holidays can bring up many emotions, and it’s important to remember that you don’t have to navigate this time alone.

Reaching out for support, whether to a trusted person, a support worker, or a mental health professional, can make a meaningful difference. Your feelings are valid, and support is always okay to ask for.

Please be gentle with yourselves and others during this season. We’re here, and we’re sending care and compassion to everyone today 💙

🎄 Merry Christmas Eve

Whether you’re spending today with family, friends, or just trying to get through quietly — we’re thinking of you.

This time of year can bring up all sorts of feelings. If it’s joyful, we hope you soak it in. If it’s tricky or lonely, we hope you’re extra gentle with yourself.

No pressure to make it perfect. Just breathe, rest when you can, and remember you’re not alone.

From all of us at Amity — wishing you calm, connection, and little pockets of peace tonight 💛

🎄✨ Merry Christmas Eve ✨🎄

We hope this festive season brings moments of joy, connection, and comfort to you and your loved ones. May Santa bring all your little ones everything they wished for on their Christmas list this year 🎅🎁

While this time of year can be magical for many, we also acknowledge that Christmas can be a difficult and emotional period for some people and participants. Changes in routine, family dynamics, financial pressure, grief, or feeling disconnected can make the holidays especially challenging.

If you or someone you support is finding this time hard, please know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to slow down, set boundaries, and prioritise wellbeing. A kind word, patience, and understanding can make a world of difference ❤️

From all of us, we’re sending love, support, and gentle reminders to look after yourselves and one another during this season.

National Cookie Day 🍪

Sometimes it’s the little things that get us through — like a soft choc chip bikkie and a quiet moment to breathe.

At Amity, we know recovery doesn’t always look like big breakthroughs. Sometimes it’s just showing up, sharing a snack, and having a chat that feels real.

So whether you're baking, dunking, or just eating straight from the packet — happy Cookie Day. You’ve earned it.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Wednesday 3rd of December

Today’s not about empty slogans or inspirational spin.

It’s a reminder to listen. To centre lived experience. To challenge systems that weren’t built with everyone in mind.

At Amity, we work alongside people with psychosocial disabilities every day — not as “heroes” or “clients” but as humans with insight, grit, humour, and value.

Disability inclusion isn’t about permission. It’s about rights, respect, and being willing to do things differently.

Always learning. Always listening. Always backing real, person-led support.

🎄 It’s officially Christmas month! 🎄
For many of our participants and clients, this time of year can bring joy, excitement, and connection. But we also know that December can be a challenging month for others — feelings of loneliness, overwhelm, grief, financial stress, family pressures, or big changes in routine can make this season difficult to navigate.

At Amity Mental Wellness, we’re here to remind you that you don’t have to go through it alone.

Our team is here to offer support throughout the entire Christmas period, including during times when things feel heavier than usual.

✨ We currently have capacity and availability to take on new participants across South East Melbourne and surrounding areas.

✨ Whether you need emotional support, community access, routines, or just someone in your corner — we’re here.

If you or someone you know could benefit from additional support this month, reach out today.

Together, we can make this season feel a little lighter. ❤️

World Diabetes Day – 14 November 💙
Diabetes doesn’t just affect physical health — it can impact mental wellbeing too. The overwhelm, the routines, the invisible stress of managing it all.

At Amity, we see the whole picture. Whether it’s supporting participants with gentle nutrition help, capacity-building routines, or just being a calm, consistent presence — we’re here for the full story, not just the headline.

To everyone living with diabetes, supporting someone who is, or feeling a bit burnt out by the daily juggle — we see you.

You’re doing more than you think. 💙
