Medium Term Accommodation often gets treated as just a “temporary stay.”

But in reality, it’s one of the most critical transition periods for a participant.
If it’s not structured properly, routines break down, behaviours can escalate, and the move to long-term housing becomes even harder.

At Direct Care Assistance, we don’t treat MTA as a stopgap.

We focus on:

Maintaining consistency in daily routines
Providing the right level of support for the individual
Preparing participants for a stable, long-term environment

Because the goal isn’t just to “house” someone temporarily.

Today we recognise World Down Syndrome Day.

At Direct Care Assistance, this isn’t just about awareness, it’s about how we show up every day in the work we do.

Supporting people with Down syndrome means understanding the individual beyond the diagnosis. It means building the right environment, the right support model, and a team that knows how to adapt, not just assist.
