As a woman who was impacted by endometriosis and has ongoing challenging menopausal symptoms, I am grateful for any research which provides useful information on women’s health. So, it was wonderful to be able contribute to the raising of funds towards research and sharing practices which improve both mental and physical health in such an accessible way.

Forest Therapy is a powerful yet gentle way to recharge, reconnect, and have a whole lot of fun!

During our guided forest therapy session, we were surprised by a bounding rock wallaby & rediscovered our sense of play as we got up close to nature.

We discovered the smallest case moth I’d ever seen, the diggings of lyrebirds dispersing rich earthy aromas, end of season ruby red fruits of the prickly currant sparkling in the sun & fungi beginning to fruit.

All facilitators volunteered, with the profits going to the Menopause Alliance AU.

Thanks to Krista for organising this fundraising event for 12 years! In addition, there was a sanitary item driveKrista MountfordfMenopause Alliance Australiaalia yarravalley melbourne

Waring / wombat season on Wurundjeri Country is the time when wombats may enjoy the warmth of the sunlight more, fungi fruits flourish & moths dance.

It is the coldest, wettest & longest of the seven Wurundjeri seasons in the Kulin Nation calendar, running from April to July.

Although the season is cooling, the beginning is a transition from the warmth of Summer into he darkness of winter. With this, snakes are still active & we saw this gorgeous tiger snake beside the creek.

Maroondah Dam, Healesville.

Collecting a few fallen things from nature, noticing what calls your attention.

Arranging the parts in relationship - a feather, bark, leaf, wood, dandelion, rock…

Drawing what you see without looking down at the page.

Lines wandering. Control loosening. Forms becoming.

Describing the drawing, out loud, noticing the words that emerge. Spoken, then heard again,
they land differently, gently held - dangling, billowy, stiff, plunge, twiggy, dense, squiggle, solid, above, below, scruffy, fluffy, crackled.

A wisp dangles unintentionally from the front of the bark & the gentle movement of the breeze & the shifting sunlight bring the form to life.

Sometimes the work isn’t to make something “good.” It’s to stay with what is, long enough for something else to emerge.

Free expression, relationship, co-creation - witnessing with presence.

Shared with permission.

We met in the hours leading up to sunset, experiencing the beautiful Warburton Redwoods as they were bathed in golden shades of twilight. The birds shared their final calls of the day and the forest was filled with the cicada’s song, as we concluded our session with darkness falling.

This was the launch of Sensing the Wild - A slow wander for a restless world - at the Warburton Redwoods, December 2026.

About - Flow foREST Therapy

Create ease & wellbeing through guided nature connection. Slow down, open up your senses & find your flow with yourself, others & the wild world. Experience meaningful, creative & accessible ways to connect.

Forest Therapy is a guided invitation to slow down and open up our senses to create a deeper connection with ourselves and the wild world. With a Certified Forest Therapy Guide FTG, it has an intentional flow & sequence, which can be customised for each walk - private, public, creative, corporate wellness or special occasion. Join me for a walk along the Merri & Edgars Creeks, the tall trees of the Yarra Valley or a place you want to explore. I value & prioritise accessible experiences, so everyone can enjoy wellness through nature connection.

Forest Therapy walks combine a specific guided sequence of complimentary activities. Research has shown numerous health and wellness benefits from Forest Therapy, including strengthening the immune system and reducing stress levels. Forest Therapy is gaining acknowledgement globally as an evidence-based, cost-effective and natural medicine for public health. With COVID-19 restrictions, nature provides a canvas for reflecting on our own experiences individually and collectively.

Flow foREST Therapy currently offers walks and experiences in Melbourne, the Yarra Valley & places you want to explore.
