This one feels personal.
Because gender-based violence isn’t just a statistic or a crisis we speak about once a year—it’s a reality I witness often in my work as a mental health professional.
It shows up in anxiety, in silence, in fear, in shame, in the stories people hesitate to share… and in the strength they don’t realise they hold.
I am truly humbled to be invited as a speaker for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence event.
To sit in a space where women feel seen, supported, and not alone that’s the work that moves me the most.
On Saturday, 29th November 2025, I’ll be speaking about:
💜 How mental health is impacted by violence behind closed doors
💜 What real support can look like for someone trying to rebuild their sense of self
💜 How we as a community can become safer, more compassionate first responders
I’m honoured to join incredible women Maryam, Kabinga, and Deborah each bringing their lived experience and professional strength to this conversation.
If even one person walks away feeling heard, validated, or a little less afraid to seek help… that will mean everything.
💜 For every woman who stayed silent because she had no choice — this space is for you.
💜 For every survivor who rebuilt their life piece by piece — your courage lights the way for others.
