I personally choose to go with my menstrual cup most of the time, and I am excited to get into trying reusable pads and period underwear!

This quote by Alisa Vitti in her book 'In the FLO' resonated with me the first time I read it. I felt a sense of urgency, and agency, in taking care of myself.

It encouraged me to take accountability for how I treat myself, especially if I am experiencing symptoms around my period.

It allowed me to give myself permission to step into my power and take my wellbeing into my own hands.

It can be hard to come to terms with your body becoming unwell, sick or affected by things outside of your control. Just know there are people all around that are going through the same thing and we are all here to support each other!

Quote:
β€˜I have renamed PMS β€œprioritising my self,” and if more women did the same, we would have far fewer premenstrual symptoms.' – Alisa Vitti

I hope this gives you hope and motivation to take care of yourself when your body is experiencing difficulties, and remember that your experience is real and true!

PMS is an UNnecessary evil that women suffer with for no real reason!

PMS – also called Premenstrual Symptoms or Syndrome, is a set of symptoms women experience a week or so before their period. These symptoms usually begin one week before your menstrual date and end within the first few hours of the menstrual phase.

PMS includes a broad range of symptoms, and each woman who experiences PMS will receive a unique set.

BUT there is hope – PMS is caused by a hormonal imbalance in the later part of your menstrual cycle (in the luteal phase). By balancing your hormones, you can improve and even eliminate your symptoms. Yay!

Swipe through to learn more about PMS and how you can improve your experience!

Times can be tricky and sometimes life doesn't work out the way you planned. I like to remember that things always have a way of working out in the end.

Hindsight is 20/20, and looking back I can always recognise how difficult experiences taught me things that have shaped me into who I am today.

So here's a little reminder that whatever you have going on in your life, I'm out there somewhere rooting for you & encouraging you along! If you ever want to chat, just send me a DM, too!

Stay well and safe friends

During the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, there are chances that you experienced or heard other women complaining or talking about changes in menstrual cycles. Due to a lack of women in Covid-19 vaccination research, we all received treatments designed explicitly for male biology. While it may come off as surprising to some, this isn’t the first time this happened. Research gender biases have been going on for as long as we can remember.

Swipe through this post to learn more about how and why women haven't been included in clinical research until only very recently!

This is such a devastating topic to learn about. It's hard to come to terms with the fact that researchers have neglected to understand the female body for decades. The more people that we can get to advocate for change in this realm, the better!
