Intermittent fasting isn’t for everyone! In my clinical experience I have only seen it work for men and short term in women for weight loss but they regress and bounce back to where they were OR they stagnate.
If your interested in why this happens, read 👇
Women of reproductive years 👙
Extended fasting can suppress reproductive hormones and disrupt ovulation, particularly when energy intake is inconsistent.
High cortisol or chronic stress 😖
Fasting can further elevate cortisol, worsening fatigue, poor sleep, and difficulty losing weight.
Blood glucose imbalances ⚖️
Long gaps without food can trigger blood sugar crashes, cravings, and energy fluctuations.
Athletes or highly active individuals 🏋️♀️
Inadequate fueling can impair performance, delay recovery, and increase the risk of muscle loss.
History of disordered eating or eating disorders
Fasting can reinforce restrictive patterns, increase food preoccupation, and make recovery or a healthy relationship with food more difficult.
Bottom line:
For most people, consistent, well-timed meals are often the more supportive approach for hormones, metabolism, and overall health.
