We're proud to step into this year’s AONA National Conference – held at the Melbourne Convention Centre on 15 November – as a Bronze Sponsor.

We’re excited to support the Australian Ophthalmic Nurses Association - AONA and look forward to connecting with like-minded professionals this weekend.

It’s a fitting moment to celebrate, with this week marking Perioperative Nurses Week – the perfect time to recognise the exceptional care, skill and compassion they bring to every patient and procedure.

Our nurses play a vital role in each patient’s journey – from pre-admission and surgery through to recovery and discharge – ensuring every step runs seamlessly. They also support our surgeons across a range of disciplines, anticipating needs with calm precision and care.

To our incredible nursing team: thank you for the expertise, dedication and heart you bring to our hospitals every day. Your impact is truly extraordinary.

RiverCity Private Hospital was abuzz last week as we hosted a CPD event for Brisbane’s eye health professional community.

Ophthalmologists Dr Jenny Tian, Dr Nick Toalster and Dr Erwin Groeneveld (pictured in image 1) delivered engaging presentations aligned with the event theme, ‘Critical vision: managing glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and urgent optometric emergencies.’

Topics included:
- Introductory guide to glaucoma management – Dr Jenny Tian
- Proliferative diabetic retinopathy, traction retinal detachment, surgery and complications – Dr Erwin Groeneveld
- 5pm on a Friday walk-ins! - anterior segment emergencies and how to handle them – Dr Nick Toalster

It was a fantastic evening of learning, connection and a little friendly competition – just ask team members Tiger and Khang (pictured in image 2), who took out the prize for best quiz team name with ‘The Eyevengers!’ 🦸‍♂️👁️

A big thank you to everyone who joined us. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

It’s Infection Prevention and Control Week, which means a shoutout to the amazing quality coordinators and hand hygiene auditors here at Vision Hospital Group! Together with our nurses, you’re the reason our hospitals stay safe, clean and ready to deliver world-class surgical care 👏👏

We managed to drag a few away from their infection control duties for a quick photo!

A heartfelt thank you to all the carers – we see you! 👀

This National Carers Week, we recognise the incredible contribution of those who provide vital care and support to others, whether as part of their profession or in an unpaid role for family members and friends.

From accompanying patients to surgery and waiting patiently during their procedure, to providing transport home, preparing meals, or offering comfort and reassurance during recovery, carers play an essential role in every patient’s surgical journey.

You can support carers by visiting Carers Australia or: https://carersweek.com.au/

At Vision Hospital Group, patient care is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why feedback from our patients and their families is so important. It helps us celebrate our successes and continuously improve where we can.

We’re proud to share that our most recent surveys resulted in a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 89 – a world-class result that reflects the trust and satisfaction of our patients. 👏

While we’re delighted by this feedback, our commitment doesn’t stop here. Guided by The Vision Way, we listen, learn and act on every piece of feedback to ensure our patients always feel safe, supported and cared for.
