We often get asked by young people, their families and clinicians we work with about our group therapy approach and how it looks different to other social groups.

We've put together some helpful info about our philosophy and values as a team.

If you're supporting a young person who you think might benefit from connecting with us and peers in a safe supportive group space, referrals for our groups are currently open.

Slide 2: Reads: What makes our groups different? Our groups aren’t about teaching young people “how to” be social. We support our participants to build the confidence to approach social situations as their authentic selves.
Slide 3: Reads Embracing Diversity: We respect for differences! Our groups are designed to celebrate these differences and build a supportive environment where everyone feels more able to be themselves
Slide 4: Reads: Connection: One of the key goals of our group therapy is to help young people understand how to they develop meaningful connections with others.
Slide 5: Reads: We Support you! Our therapy groups provide a safe space where young people can explore their strengths, address challenges without judgement, and practice how they would like to be in social interactions…while hopefully having some fun.
Slide 6: Reads: Beyond social skills. We don’t teach social skills, we support the development of social confidence!

You’ve tried the attendance plans.
The meetings.
The rewards.
The consequences.
And still… some students just can’t get through the gate.

School “refusal” isn’t defiance - it’s often distress.

If you’re supporting young people who can’t attend school, this in-person day of learning will give you practical, compassionate tools that actually make a difference.

Delivered by the teams at Can’t Face School and The Social Confidence Collective, this workshop brings together school re-engagement expertise and deep youth mental health experience.

Walk away clearer, more confident, and ready with strategies you can use straight away.

At The Social Confidence Collective, we stand in solidarity with our First Nations Communities.

January 26 is not a date to celebrate, it is a Day of Mourning for the Australian Indigenous communities.

Each year on this date, on the lands of the Wurundjeri People, we pause and reflect about how we can support First Nations Communities.

Thank you to Clothing The Gaps for sharing your insights about how we can support the Jan 26 campaign including this visual.

As always we will be making a donation to Pay The Rent to acknowledge that we live and work on the stolen lands of Indigenous people. You can find out more about how to donate to Pay The Rent here: https://paytherent.net.au
